EK9 Rear Diffuser

I rock a Spoon diffuser on my EK, doesn't seem to fit as well as in pics I've seen though :(.

i love the look of the rear diffusers :) I had one on my old evo 9, the question i want to know is does it really make that big a difference?would be good to know the difference it makes if it does

Vince , your car is stunning , how was the fitment on the diffuser ? can you post up more pics ?

Thanks. Fitment wise... it's not perfect of course, it's designed for an S2000. I hacked it up quite a lot to fit it. Some more pics, it's a hard thing to photograph as its just flat black and under the car...

The middle section sits about 1" too high I think so going to try and get it fitting better soon, also the whole thing is tilted a bit too much.

You got balls man , i would not go cutting at that , you must of checked it like 20 times before cutting lol

Tell le about it...fair play for doing it mate. Looks sweet :nice:

It's not going to make much difference at all on our car's. Definitely form over function. At the most they may guide air away from the area behind the rear bumper, reducing the air brake effect a little.

The main job of the diffuser though is to increase the velocity of the air leaving the car, which reduces underside pressure and results in downforce. To do that though you'd have to tray the whole underside so it's completely flat. I don't know what else they do with the fully built s2000's and the like that run them, maybe there's some function somewhere? Just can't see it with the limited knowledge I have.

One thing i do know, they look sick!

Is a nice mod! I still think you should have re-routed the exhaust instead of cutting a massive slice out of the diffuser, Get that exhaust up and out the way :nice:

Looks good on track!!!

Vince you still rocking that litle 1.4i badge on your EK, Lmao

Of course :D.

....but I want my JDM tilt + angle :(. I'm having a whole new system made on Thursday so hopefully things will all sit a bit nicer!

...there is another part of the spoon diffuser which is the flat bottom.

Oh yeah it was rather daunting taking a cutting disc to it... so easy to cut bits away... not so easy to put them back haha. I definitely took my time and did it bit by bit until it fitted!

Of course :D.

You know having your zorst popping out of your rear bumper is worth it :p If your getting a new system anyway ;)

I think this is an excellent mod, don't really like it when the rear lip/bumper isn't fabricated to fit the Diffuser. Looks much better as a whole when everything is fabricated correctly.

One of my favourite mods for the rear of the car.
