so the time has come and I have decided to go turbo. the b16b is far valuable to turbo so I will keep that to the side in the workshop. I will be doing as much work as I can myself with the help of my dad, also Cpl racing are only round the corner from me and are old friends of mine so will be seeking advice from them.

target 400/450 BHP!!

so got myself the cheapest b18c4 I could find and I only needed the block and crank as I am replacing everything else.

cleaning begins

at the moment the car is running a spoon N1 back box's and b-pipe 2.25". not big enough so im getting a custom 3" system. so got myself a vibrant 3" muffler 4" tip

stripping the b18c4 has started.

then I found this in the oil pick up

then removed that last piston and found this

no wonder it was so cheap haha left a nice mark on the bore

not to worry as I am getting new pistons and the block its getting bored and honed

so as that's going to be some time im getting started on taking the b16b out the car

boots getting a tad full

and she's out

more cleaning

the block is back and been bored honed and the sleeve support been pressed in to handle the power. also got pistons, rods and head studs

painting

got myself a b16a2 head free from my brother so lets that stripping that

head off to Cpl racing for new guides and seat, so lets make them yellow headlights fresh again.

wet and dry

after using finer and finer wet and dry out came the polish

Nice man!
Exactly the same failure as mine! almost identical even.
What cylinder was it?
I'm wishing I got a block guard now but it's all in and running so won't be taking it all apart again lol

cylinder 4 I think. I wish I had the money for sleeves but they cost so much. So this is the next best thing

Mine was 3. Yeah sleeves would be great, but I'm not aiming high power like you so I couldnt justify spending that much.

Socketed p28, I've got an avcr for boost control.
