For those of you in the US, how are you insuring your EK9? I got an absurd quote from Hagerty that is more than my normal cars premium because they claim that even though I have proof of other daily drivers, a Civic in their database is still heavily used as a daily driver so they have the insure it as such. I got an extremely low quote from Grundy but based on their wording, it seems like they give themselves a lot of ambiguity on potentially denying claims with how strict they are with rules

I use Grundy. $370 a year
i’m assuming you’ve never had to file a claim with them right? grundy is definitely the most appealing option price wise but worried about if i ever have to file a claim if i was actually using the car for an errand or commute

I use Hagerty for my ITR DB8 and Grundy for my EK9. While it does cross my mind how they may push back on it's usage IF (god forbid) something happened while driving. I think I still trust them over someone like Progressive etc.

curious why you would trust grundy over progressive. i ultimately went with state farm

I had an em1 and it was hit outside my house parked. Even with full coverage including what happened to it progressive did not want to pay me the cost to have it fixed as it was a "hit and run".

I actually did call them when I bought my Integra (after the civic hit and run) and they would not offer a good "Guaranteed value" at the time IF something were to happen to it.

Hagerty values my ITR at 33k and Grundy for my EK9 25k (what i paid).

Also feel more confident in the business model Hagerty/Grundy offer vs a standard insurance company(not saying their bad).
