Will be working on this build in the next month so thought id start a thread for it now.
Basically its a uk ep3 with a stock k20a2 engine and will be using the new schuband autoworks turbo kit using a 5858 from precision.
Kpro
Injector dynamics 1000ccs
Pretty much all the bells and whistles other than the block being stock.

Ive been told the bulk of the parts are being delivered tomorrow so we got the boost controller in today.
Trusty AVCR wired in and working correctly.

So we had a delivery from the car gods today.
All top quality parts aswell which is nice.

About the turbo kit,
From what ive seen so far the kits good quality, hes taken the time to get the inside looking as good as the outside does, everything meets smoothly and just feels good in your hands.
Fitting will be the next test but i imagine getting all this into an ep3 engine bay will be a struggle anyway, if youve ever looked down the back of the ep3 engine bay youll know what i mean.
We got to fit a large tubular manifold and a 3" downpipe with recirc waste pipe in that tiny space.

Love the intercooler and pipework for that, looks a decent size also.
Exhaust system as good as any other ive seen fabrication wise, all vbands through out.

The turbo, alittle smaller than i imagined actually, still massive mind lol never experienced a precision turbo before so thats a first for me, im a major garrett fan so we'll see how that goes.

Precision wastegate, love the choice of springs you get. Tial you get two springs and this 48mm precision gate has like 5 springs with it. Gives us plenty of options for boost settings etc.

ID1000s. As usual with those really, best on the market imo.

So weve got some big jobs to do before we can get the kit on. Mainly fixing a return fuel line and pressure regulator as the ep3 has its regulator inside the tank.
This is bad because we cant increase the fuel preasure with boost, meaning the injectors have to push fuel agaisnt a higher pressure in the manifold, now with a poor injector that might be more of a problem as an injector can start acting abit funny at low fuel pressures.

Kit looks lovely! , looking forward to the updates on this

Looks a good bit of kit that Jessie look forward to seeing the results when mapped

Yeah the kit looks good quality so far. Im interested to see how the manifold last with the weight of the turbo hanging off it. Schuband is confident it will be fine though.
I suspect my brother will want to get this on the dyno soon after mapping, where as im happy with how quick my ek9 is and dont want to ruin it with a number i might not like lol
Maybe we'll get them both done at the same time

One thing I'd say to check jess is the flange on the wastegate, some companies use a 'cheaper' so to speak flange and these fail. Nothing else to worry about in terms of the turbo hanging off it

By flange do we mean the port thats welded to the manifold? That should be fine on this one, its really short.

Progress will be slow until the end of the month, being a daily means we cant get stuck into it until my brother is off work for a decent period of time.
In the mean time small things getting checked for fitment and possible issues.
Intercooler fitted to check for clearance on the pipework and oil cooler.

Oil cooler will be moved over to the drivers side to keep the heat off the cooler but it all fits fine it seems.
Alittle issue with a battery relocation today, he bought a small kit car type battery(same as i and many others have on here) but it seems its just too small to turn the engine over reliably.
So thats a little hurdle to get over.

The wastegate flange which the actual wastegate clamps on to, some company's use flanges with a thin wall and these fail.

Ah no this ones as thick as my go-autoworks one is. Should be fine then.

I'm surprised the battery isn't man enough, maybe it's duff?

Precision wastegate come with all v-band flanges? So are you saying that precision wastegates are ****?

They are actually thicker than sch40 pipe used for his manifold.

Its strange. It would start the car just attached to the cars original battery loom. But try and start it with a cable inbetween(as if relocated battery) and it wouldnt have it.
Ill check the charge on it today and give it a boost then try again.

Marc's has a similar problem his battery is mounted in car and sometimes struggles same battery on my old car in stock location worked fine. What amp battery is it?

Its 17.5ah iirc but the battery he has in it atm is like 40 odd.
We tried shorter length cable, thicker and thinner and it made no difference.

So we took delivery of a kpro4 installed in a pra ecu today.
Didnt take long to notice we had an issue with it though, i believe theyve killed the ecu when installing the kpro board but we'll find out once we get a reply from the vendor.
It is pretty common for hondata ecus to have issues straight out the box, the exact reason i got mine 2nd hand was to be sure it actually worked properly and the fact im a skinflint.
So setback 2 in 2 days lol

Edit: nevermind we fixed it. Had to erase the ecu first and go through a procedure to get it working. All is well now lol

It doesnt, got a feeling this is going to fight us the whole way lol

Not much going on so heres a turbo selfie taken on a potato...

Battery update.
It got sent back, they tested it and it appears we got a faulty battery. Theyve sent out an upgrade worth double the price absolutely free!
