ep3(uk) FN2 front calipers..same as ek9 calipers?

Correct.
Can't answer the wheel clearance question unfortunately, my brother put my 15" track wheels on his ep3 before and they fit ok.
Might look into the ep3 front brake conversion for mine. Discs get very hot on track but no fade as of yet.

Im having second thoughts on this EP3 upgrade since it seems some machining work need to be done to the hubs or something as i read on here. Reluctant to have such work done on my car :(

Seems like im going to have to stick with OEM calipers and upgrade to DBA front disks, Stoptech rear discs and Stoptech Street Performance pads all round. Hope this is enough to safely stop 220-230bhp :nerv::nerv::nerv:

That's correct, you'll actually get a touch more rear bias with the EP3 brakes, which is a good thing.

Not 100% on the fitment, I believe the calipers may need flipping side to side as I think they sit in the trailing position on the EP3, but it should all bolt up fine IIRC.

Ok so spent all morning Googling and searching regarding this EP3 brake upgrade and i think i might have got to some conclusions.......hope I dont get fired :D:D:D

1) EP3 discs do not fit the ek9 hubs. Alternative should be Accord Type R disks which should fit straight on the ek9 hubs with no spacers or milling anything....hassle free.

2) EP3 calipers are to be fitted left on to right and vice versa so the bleed nipples come at the top. Have no idea what the hell this means but should be done.:naughtyx:

3) All other brake parts like servo and MC do not need any upgrade replacements and ek9 parts will be used.

Anyone can confirm the above 100% tried and tested before i take the plunge and start ordering parts? :nerv::nerv::nerv:

Thanks

Oh crap.....just found out that ATR discs are 3mm thicker than EP3 discs so assuming they will not fit the EP3 calipers.....back to the drawing board :slap:

*EDIT - Using ATR calipers will fit the ek9 fine.......now question is if all the ATR setup fits under OEM ek9 wheels without use of spacers

ATR setup is common, only problem is the ATR brakes are more powerful so they will add front bias. It's unlikely to be a massive difference though, and the improvements in fade and pedal feel will more than likely outweigh any detrimental effects .

Most probably i will be going the ATR upgrade route if im sure that they fit under OEM ek9 wheels.....anyone knows if they fit or at least knows spacer size i would need to have them fit? :please:

so the question a lot of people want to know...is it worth upgrading to ep3 calipers over ek9 calipers , bare in mind im running a 220bhp b18c

I wouldn't personally, I'm on ek9 calipers with a track pad and it stops my 280hp ok, they get abit hot on track but don't fade so....

My ek9 calipers stop ok too but i want a better system hence the upgrade im looking out for :naughty::naughty::naughty:

My only concern now is fittment under OEM ek9 wheels!

What I'm saying is unless your overheating the brakes and getting fade now you don't need to improve them?

220bhp isn't going to overload the stock brakes. Spend your money on good pads, discs, hoses and fluid and that's all that is really needed.

That was my initial plan to be honest but the perfectionist part of my brain just took over......will be weighing this option once again

The car will be used as a Street Warrior and only tracked maybe a couple of times a year so this option could well fit my needs.

Yes i have tried but i cant seem to get it to work. I have inputted the data but the dials just remain the same and dont move or when i try to refresh the page and input all the data again the dials will not show up and stay with awaiting input message.

Seems like the calculator is a bit buggy

Ok I think I managed to get it to work but probably not getting accurate readings since some of the parameters requested like Weight Distribution and Tyre Friction I have no idea where to get those from. Also, how is the wheelbase to be measured.....inches or mm?

Getting a lot of front bias with the parameters i managed to input but as said most probably they are not correct.
