what is your primary use of the car?
do you have second car?

throttle body should only really be concidered if planning to run big power. On a stock motor really wont do to much...

Like blinx said, the final drive will push power band up in each gear change/gain alot more response and Theoretically more torque through the rev range as torque is gained through gearing......

that will be biggest gain with the money i would of thought...

with just the 4.9 final drive you loose in the region of 25MPH as stock gearing with OEM wheels/tires is 157MPH(not that you can get there in a stock EK9 but hay) and the 4.9 drops you to around 130MPH mabe a tad less... Although extra RPM can get you a bit more as well as bigger tires/wheels etc, but thats defeating the point really isnt it.

Personally i wouldnt go for that only because i am enjoying the cars acceleration/top speed combo..... Everyone is different though....

If i were to change gearing now would be only 3rd,4th and 5th as 1st and 2nd are nice and long to keep traction to a maximum...

ok tanks dont want to loose that much top speed. just want more hp i have to run b16b 6000vtec 9200cut and launch5000:drive:
 
Get a good set of cams, springs, retainers and gears then. Pm bazza he will sort you out.
 
I have also Mfactory final drive 4.928. First time in life i have disassembled trans and took all apart. I was scared to death if I knew to put all together.

I also bought longer first gear 3,070. so I do not feel difference in first gear (acceleration in first gear on stock car is amassing already), but in second and third major difference. You can do this with fifth gear.

Buy longer fifth and final drive 4.928 and you have finished with trans for good. Take the chance to see the barrings, I have to order one main barring.

Also if you need pictures for disassemble I can attach somewhere!

B16B is holy thing, like saint it would be sin to do so :)

How can you find one in Bosnia? Has never been seen except in my garage. :)


500$ is small amount, now to be specific to your question:

1. cold air intake + K&N filter < 500
2. decat + muffler + straight pipe < 500
3. Exhaust manifold < 500 - vibrant, and we all know that it does not have effect as AN-R or TODA
4. Injectors + Fuel pump < 500
5. Throttle body + header + velocity stack < hard 500

These are bolt on changes, motor in stock state.
And you have to do this in combinations. There is no noticeable gain if you do 1. and not do 2,3, but ok you have to start on something. good luck, hope you will like new engine.
