F20C in EJ9

actually if you think about it. turn the engine around it will probably sit in the same place as a b series. and it isnt really that much further forward than a b series. inlet manifold fools all i think.

one thing though. wouldnt the gearbox internals have to be modified in some way as its the wrong way around? or is modified bell housing mated to a k20 box or the sort?

so true! This project reminds me some lunatic americans that tranform civics to v8 just for the fun of it. Can't see the point in that.
I would really like to see some weight distribution figures.
The Civette :D Awesome project. And this is too. Just another case of "because we can" :D Not saying it's the most cost efficient or that I would do it but I love to see things like this!

my little car :woot:

Hi my neme is enrico and i live in italy, this is my ej9 ;) if you want any infromation ask me(my english is orrible for your luck  )

p.s. because the position of engine is terrible?
I'm wondering, what did you have to do custom?

About the position, the engine sitting so forward, over the front axle, means it'll be more prone to understeering.

this is all the video picture of swap ;)

this is a comparation to eg with b16a2 vs ej9 with f20c... my car have the head 5-6cm rear to eg6-ek4-eg2...

i have comparate the engine weight(only engine, no intake manifold, no exhaust manifold, no gearbox ecc ecc)

h22 130kg
b18c6 110
b16a2 95
f20c2 92

remember this: if you look the crackshaft pulley for b16-b18-h22-d16 ecc ecc turn anticlockwise but k20 and f20 turn clockwise if you use the b18c6 gearbox to f20c and turn the engin with intake manifold to the rear you have 5 gear in the rear and 1 in the front  and if you dont' turn the engine you have the driveshaft in the front of the engine... My first problem is this! i have things and i have chosen the k20 gearbox because:
-Have 6 speed
-have a right rotation
-i can use 2 of 3 motour mouth to k20 swap in ek (2 mouth is over the gearbox) ;)

Nice work, great project! Anybody who has worked on both K20s and F20's and played around with the idea of doing this type of project will appreciate the ammount of custom work involved. :nice: top notch.

molto impressionante lavoro, Congratulazioni per un grande progetto. Come è l'angolo driveshaft?

im italian too :) But live in UK all my life....

But understand it all :)

Wicked project mate, love these wild things.

Thats some build. Well done on that. I think thats the first one of those I have seen done. Looks like a machine.

I have try with a eg to k20a(jdm engine 220hp + tuning, abouth 230ho now) have the jdm gearbox(is too short) if i start at 3500rpm in the second gear, my car vs egk20jdm is same, i pass very slow only over the 4° gear(the k20a have the i-vtec and in low rpm have more power) if i try in 2° gear but to 6000rpm is umbelivable... 2° and 3° gear i can pass all the eg f20c2 vs k20a jdm over is the difference is embarrassing the gap is 2-3 car... and my car have the clutch slipping...

I think inline pro in the states make this kit. Pretty expensive though..
