Fabric dye?

Does fabric dye work well? I want to dye the blue on my seat black

I used black fabric spray paint on my seats and was actually really impressed for the £12 price. Got a decent paint from a legit company, though mine was only used to touch up some areas where the previous owner had bleached the seat. To turn it completely from blue to black would probably need some proper dye though yh, or a number of cans
