First turbo build...

Suspension I've got out the way all ready, got a brand new set of meisterRs waiting to be fitted which shall be done on the 5th of sept. A full rebush will also be done some point after that when the car goes into the garage to have its arches done. Brakes, stock 282/262 calipers with brembo blanks+ebc yellows up to the job? If not, will go for a 300mm setup in the future with some carbotech pads.

Exhaust I'm currently running a tegiwa mani with a custom 2.5inch system which ill be keeping, bar the tegiwa mani obviously. I can sell it for about 300-350 to recoup some cash.

Engine management will be using a socketed p28 for now till i have the funds to upgrade. I won't be doing my own mapping, Romain tunes using Neptune RTP so effectively a p28 SHOULD be adequate enough for now.

Tyres arnt too much of a concern for now. I can budget this in later on as I won't be starting the build till december-ish Was looking at re002s for the road and for trackdays something like ad08s or r888 if need be. I have two sets of rims so these will do perfectly

Driveshafts - stock drive shafts won't be enough? I thought they were since no body else has mensioned them in people's builds lol.

As said, budget will be 3k but I can stretch this if I need to which it seems like I probably will - not the main concern really. The main thing is just choosing a turbo kit that will provide me with what I want and be reliable at the same time.

Thanks for that mate. I've allready done suspension and brakes. I've factored in everything else such as tyres and whatnot. It's just down to choosing a turbo kit. I'm going to stick with a go auto works kit but I'm just undecided on wether I want to go for their street x kit and have a GT2860RS or just stick to their normal street kit and go for their T3/T04b. I just need it to spool fast, currently looking at their T3/T04b option now as I've seen @jesse888 run the same kit with good spool and progressive power, exactly what I'm after

The go autoworks kit is good however I was a bit disappointed with my ic pipe work. The fit isn't great and it's hard up against the gearbox torque mount. I also had to buy several fittings and hose to run the water lines. What I will say is you won't be able to fault the quality of fabrication and workmanship. What you get for what you pay is very good.

If your aiming for December I could have my kit for sale around then. Probably January though.

See above.

Had a laugh reading back through this thread...

@Vtec6000 could of went for sheepy after all! Ended up being closer to easter 16 than 15 lol. Actually I think everything worked out perfectly with the autoworks kit in the end.

First build was the correct word to use it seems lol

Ive still got my mullered piston, can't make anything of it but it's a keep sake

just read through this thread hoping to see it all coming together lol, what happened??

Can I ask ppl what they paid for there turbo kits as I went a different route and bought all mine individually and it's really saved me a hell of a lot of cash and import fee's

It's abit apples and oranges really bud isn't it..
Quality of parts being the main thing.
Turbo being another, my turbo was like 1100-1200 on its own...

I'm actually quite happy with my parts to be honest I did some research and had my budget and jobs a good one just needs funds to fit engine and then mapping and I'm away to the drags

You ended up with an airwerks didn't you? Or was it a China copy on eBay?

Where you from? I'm looking to tune some bseries for forum users now I'm confident with my own tune.

No pal I bought a ram horn manifold, a s200 Borg-Warner turbo charger, 38 mm wastegate, oil lines off eBay, intercooler kit off eBay, seriously I saved a tonne of cash just need to get a dumpvalve n electronic boost controller and get the wngine fitted and then I will fit the turbo kit myself, I'm in Wakefield pal
