Front brake upgrade

Sounds like a good setup!

I'm doing a trackday Saturday so we'll see how my setup gets on:naughtyx:.

Well I did my trackday today and the brakes were absolutely fantastic!! No fade at all, anyone that's done Blyton park will know it's hard on brakes. Had a lot of track time too, used 2 x 20L jerry cans and a full tank so they've had some hammer. Very happy with the setup.

Needs to be the accord carriers. To carry the larger caliper and disc diameter.

Another update on this, done another 2 trackdays since fitting this setup (3 in total) and still no cracked discs so I'm happy with those. The pads are dead though so time for new pads, tempted with RC6 but the Dixcel ones have been fantastic, dunno what to do lol?

If your happy with the dixcel then I'd probably stick to them.
Same reason I won't try another pad from rc6 I guess lol

You've had good luck with them discs, I cracked mine after maybe 4 laps of the ring.

But I don't know if the grass is greener with the RC6 lol!

I must be a 'Jenson Button' on the car haha!

Or your not driving hard enough....
Fella at the ring sells brakes etc, he said he sees it alot, **** rear pads and a track front pad causing the cracks.
Said that the rears fade out and it sends the brake bias forward and heats up the discs.

Lol, must try harder haha.
I'm on dicxel rears too, hopefully they're decent that's why I haven't cracked the discs etc yet.

Wait till you're trying to slow the 500hp beast down, your brakes will look like a catherine wheel lol!!

Has anyone noticed a decrease in handling or behavior, after the atr brake swap... (due to the weight)

Best Regards

I haven't, but then again it was an all new setup for this year so I have nothing to compare it to. The brakes have been very good though with zero problems due to fading etc.

I had 282mm legend calipers with discs and removed them to go back to OEM EK9 setup.

I prefer the EK9 setup, lighter and better feeling in the steering wheel . Feels more precise to place the car.

However I don't have a 500 HP turbo EK, car is stripped and I'm N/A with around 190-195 hp.

If going to twin pots I would definitely go up in disc size to 300mm, otherwise no point in my opinion.

It depends on your 15" wheels.
We've successfully fitted a 4 pot Superlite setup with 2 piece 300x32mm discs behind a set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels. There's bags of clearance behind those!

Yes the TD Pro Race 1.2 have a lot of space for big brakes.

In my case with OEM EK9 wheels, Legend Bi-pistons with 282mm discs were very close to the inner side of the wheel.
