Gym/Fitness thread


Yea i have been going with my brother and he says the same thing. Just keep good form etc. Think im doig pretty well. Mrs has noticed a difference and so has my dad. So just gonna keep going at it and hopefully get where i want to be.
 
Aye form is key too many people in gyms do half reps with silly weights that is doing them no good!

Does take time just keep at it :D

Yeh I don't get the whole dirt bulk, whats the point in making a conscious effort to train and practice good health, only to fill your body with crap??

My diet could be a bit cleaner, but on the whole its clean, hence why I have also leaned up a bit over the past 6 months....BF is just guesswork atm. I aim to be as close to 90kg as poss come the spring, ready for a cut down to 10-12% where I should drop down to 78-80kg and hopefully look half decent. Natural is the only way in my eyes, far too easy to jump on the juice and balloon up.

Your eating and knowledge seems good, I'm sure your be hitting 80 then 90 kg in no time!

New pb for me :) dumbbell shoulder press 36kg x8 I weigh 75kg. Had man flu the last couple of weeks though :(
 
surpassed 300kg leg press this evening, managed x8 reps from 180kg up to 340 at 40kg intervals and back down to 180kg. do a little squats and deadlifting too but my back is a POS so sometimes limited as to what i can do. On side not i've been going to the gym x3 a week and cardio as well for the last 5-6 weeks but i weighed myself this evening and apparantly im 16st 11lb, nearly dropped a brick. last time i weighed myself i was under 16st!
 
Going to head back to the gym on Thursday and try gain some mass/muscle have attempted a few times before but its hard being an ectomorph, Taking in more food all ways seems to be the hardest for me...

I am an ectomorph as well! But I am eating 4000+ calories a day it is hard but you get used to it :p
 
Haha me to i think. Been stuck at 10.5 stone for about a 2 months now :'(.

I usually do 8-12 reps per set for 5 sets as heavy as I can and this seems to work for me so far but not my legs, I have tried 5reps for 5 sets going heavy and that didnt work either, my legs get stronger but are just still small but really ripped.

So going to change it from today going for 16-20 reps per set on squats and 12-15 reps on leg press :p need to get some size on these legs somehow!
 
Aye im eating as much as i can now. I have 2.5 weeks left of my current routine doing 8-10 reps for 3 sets heavy weight. Upping the weight each week. Legs arent getting any bigger but are getting stronger lol

I've started doing legs twice a week now.
I'll hit squats, leg ext, hack squat press, lunges, leg curls and stuff leg dead lifts one day.
Next leg session I'll do squats, lunges, leg ext and back press, but all those on the second session as one big superset and the last set adding chains onto the squats.
Got them up to 28inch so far.
 
F**k that sounds like fun. Was doing pyramid sets last night for a change up, on chest bi's and tri's. Really enjoyed feeling the fatigue on the muscles. Felt like an idiot struggling to bench 40kg on the way back down haha

It's good for a change, doesn't take long for a routine to get boring so I usually swap things about every 6 weeks tops.

Same boat as you man! Body shape has changed for the better bigger arms, shoulder, back and so on but still remain with a high body fat level and podgy.

This time at home i am changing my diet and a more intense work out. I should have more free time to work on it in the next couple of months.
 
I used to love going to the gym, but we moved location now I am at banatynes and honestly i hate it there. Used to go to a proper old school place, now i just have no motivation to go. :(
 
Have you guys tried using a high protein mass gainer to increase calories? I struggled to put weight on and then was recommended a weight gainer by someone in the gym and since I started the gains have been plentiful!

Yeah I tried a few none seemed to work well. Mutant Mass with whole milk at 1400 calories a shake did work for a few month put on a few kg but then I stopped.

Now I have just ordered a mass gainer that has 3100 calories per shake :nerv:

probably will taste like ass but here hoping I get up to 75kg before my birthday (Mid May)
 
3100kcals! That is a lot!

The best one I've found up to now is called MyoMASS by MyoMuscle. It's really high protein and calories with more protein than anything else in it. The ones I had used previously had been mainly carbs and upset my stomach. The Choc Cookie one literally tastes like drinking Easter eggs lol. So nice and it's only £34.99 for 4kg.

Which one is 3100Kcals that sounds mighty impressive I may have to give it a try!
