Hi guys, new member here from Bangkok, Thailand. I have had couple of Japanese performance cars in my younger days, my first car was a single cam EG 3 door, a GC8 and a 180sx when I was studying in Australia, and an Evo 6. Cars after were all European. Had always dreamt of building a K20 EK hatch after watching some videos on YouTube. Opportunity came when my wife gave up driving due to the horrible daily traffic situation in Bangkok, and we had a Mini Cooper S to trade. A real EK9 is almost impossible to find in Thailand, I was told there's maybe about only 3 real EK9 here. Much worse, most EK hatch here were converted from EK coupes, which are alot more comman here. However the idea of having a K20 in a car that had its chassis cut and welded doesn't exactly fit my idea of safety. I spent several months looking, till this came up.

Not a real EK9, but at least it was originally an EK3 hatch which has been fully converted to Type R running gears and decorated with Spoon parts.

Previous owner must be a big fan of Spoon. Genuine Spoon carbon fibre bonnet, rear wing, mirrors, cluster gauge, steering wheel, brakes, Sw388 wheels and Kevlar seats. It's not really to my taste, however I figured that if the previous owner had insisted on using only original Spoon parts instead of replicas which can be easily purchased locally, he must have really put in alot of effort to look after the car, thus it should be in good shape mechanically and structurely. My plans for the car is to restore it back to a stock EK9 outlook and K swap. I've already purchased a JDM DC5R front cut and ordered some Hybrid Racing K swap parts. Feeling excited about this new journey already.
