I just got this today, and I installed it in my car. I cannot tell if these headlights are real Civic Type R [EK9] headlights or EK4 SiR headlights. I cannot tell if my headlights are chrome or gunmetal chrome (shadow chrome). It has the Honda Stanley stamped on the lens and plastic backing. I spent hours doing research and it seems that there are more than 1 type or SiR headlights! Possibly 4 (Stanley Chrome with bulb diffuser, Stanley gunmetal chrome without bulb diffuser, Valeo gunmetal chrome without bulb diffuser, and Valeo gunmetal chrome with bulb diffuser)? Can someone help? Thank you.

look like normal ek4 ones to me. would real CTR headlights not have the wrong beam pattern for driving on the right side of the road?

I'm not too sure about the beam pattern because I haven't driven with them at night yet. I'm posting more pictures right now.

That looks like a faded ek9 headlight tbh.

This makes sense. Never even thought about that before haha. Yea you should get the pattern checked out mate

Looks like standard EK4 headlights to me, they are a little dark probably because they are a little faded.

Its way to dark even with fade. Ek/ej headlights are clear. Can you get any day time shots?

Yes but Civic Type R headlights would have wrong beam pattern too since SiR and Civic Type R are both available in RHD, correct?

This is NOT 100% true. It is a FACT that there are Civic SiR EK4 headlights made from VALEO that have a darker shade of chrome. Can someone please 100% confirm if STANLEY EK4 SiR headlight were ever given the darker chrome or no? Once this answer is found out, we will know for sure if my headlights are from an EK9 or EK4.

pictures with natural light would make it easier. Also ek9's where RHD only so if your beam pattern is for LHD you know they aren't ek9 headlights. RHD light pattern is low on the right and flares up to the left.

With my reference Im almost certain you don't have genuine ek9 headlights they look very OEM I would imagine they are ek4 SiR lights, mine were certainly a slight shade darker than my mates ej6 and will have same beam pattern as ek9 lights as both are japan made RHD

Edit mates ej6 uk spec lights

Here are more pictures. Without a doubt, the right hand side headlight is definitely a Civic Type R headlight; there is absolutely no question about it. The left hand side headlight it what has been bothering me for hours and hours:

Here is exactly what it looked like when I opened the package last night. Ignore the missing bulb on the left headlight; I took it out before I took the picture.:

Here are two pictures I just took outside in cloudy weather:

Hi Michael
96-98 EK4 SiR Headlights are always from Valeo.
Are you able to read a part number?
EK9 Headlights have the part number 33101-S04-305 right and
33151-S04-305 left
best regards
Oliver

90% sure they are genuine. You got more pics of the tabs, the coding on the plastic cover and the back of the headlight?
