I have an Ek9 with a b16b. I am deciding to change the clutch, flywheel and plate and would like to know if this combination would be a good choice. Fidanza Lightned flywheel (3.79kg) and Exedy Disc and Pressure Plate. Heres a link to the kit I am planning to buy:

EXEDY CLUTCH & FIDANZA FLYWHEEL SET 99-00 CIVIC SI B16:eBay Motors (item 350237360903 end time Sep-06-09 12:49:45 PDT)

Also in addition to that I will be changing the transmition to an integra type R trans with a final ratio of 4.78.

Please make suggestions or comments on how you guys think this combitination will work on the car. The car is not a daily driver but i dont want something unconfortable.

:thanks:

I have had both 8lb and 12lb flywheel as well as OEM flywheel, i can tell you now that oem b16b flywheel or 12lb flywheel was the best in my opinion for comfort/performance mix.

Ok thanks for the info. Now can you please explain what is the sensation or feeling when driving with the 8 lb flywheel with the original clutch kit? With the 8lb flywheel when starting the car in first gear, does the car behaves differently? does the clutch rattles or feels weird? what about at iddle speed, meaning the car is not moving? please help with some extra input on this...
:thanks: :dance:

My only complain about 8lb is that shifts become jerky if you shift slow because your revs will drop to nearly idle and then have to jump back up when you go into the next gear, this can be solved by shifting faster or rev matching but i like to just drive normal some times.

Excelent I understand what u mean... now what do you think about the brand of the kit? Fidanza and Exedy... Also do you know anything about using an integra type R transmition. It comes with 4.78 final gear and the 5th gear is a little taller. What about combining this taller final gear of the itr trans with the the 8lb fidanza flywheel?? Any inputs?

:dance::thanks:

you don't really need to concern yourself with gearing in relation to flywheel weight. ITR 98spec is a great box, you will enjoy it no matter what flywheel you have :nice:

i have the lightweight fidanza fly and its fine for daily driving in my opinion. i can understand whats been said regarding the gear changes, but its not bothered me at all to be honest :)
