Does anyone have any pictures of a head when its tapped for vtec? Can you use a head that is tapped for vtec even if you don't run vtec?

explane, do you want to put Vtec head on the D block, or B block, or just want to disable Vtec? You can drive car without engaging Vtec.

if you are building a b16 and the head was previously on a b20vtec. when you go to put it back on a b16 block does it matter if its tapped?

Ok it is clear now, I hope.

Yes it does.
So the block B20 and B16 have different positions of holes for oil supply. If the head was on B20 and Vtec was working guy had to tap the hole and to drill another.
Tapping is making tread and putting screw that you can unscrew again if you use it. If he welded the hole you can bore it again. You should just take much care if you damage the surface of the head, than you will have to resurface it.

I have never done it so check again: here is useful link for you:

Yeah cuz I sold a head to some guy who said he was a mechanic. I let him look at the head twice and he even brought a friend with him to look at it. He buys it, three days later he calls me and hes like ohh you ripped me off, you didnt tell me it was tapped blah blah blah but i mean what kind of mechanic doesnt know that a head is tapped just by looking at it. so hes trying to say he cant use the head now. thats why im asking if you can still use it even if its tapped. its done with an screw allen bolt.
