96' EJ9 Hawaii Edition
Hey Everyone, I recently bought a 96' Honda Civic EJ9 Hawaii Edition. I'm very new to the civic world and and I have very little knowledge about this trim model being a Hawaii. I know that these were European but made for the US because everything in the car is converted for example my speedometer is in MPH. I would like to build this car but I just wasn't sure how rare of an "Special Edition" it was. Also I've been having a really hard time finding somewhere to buy parts from, I live in the US and every time I try to search this car nothing comes up in the databases. I don't know if i can use EK9 parts or what. would love any knowledge I cant get. Thanks

My first time seeing a Hawaii Edition Civic.

For what I see it has a 1.4 d14 engine, and front and rear bumper of a VTI/Japan EK version.

I owned a 1.4 99 sedan for about 2 weeks and the car came from Japan, and it was a left hand drive.

Share some photos of the motor if possible :)

Don't think its anything special like the Illusion EJ9. Wouldn't be made for the US specifically, since its right hand drive. Also the UK uses MPH. Thats nothing abnormal.

I believe it’s a D14A4, I’ll try to get some pictures as soon as I can

You guys know of any websites that sell cosmetic parts for this Or any parts honestly that would ship to the US?? I’d like to Lower it, put some white wheels on it, and maybe a spoiler and bumpers

eBay as mentioned already. JHPUSA is a good one.

The parts you mentioned you want, they wouldn't be any different to a US domestic Civic. If you want to lower it, plenty of options depending on your budget. Wheels, make sure you get 4x100 wheels. Spoilers all fit the same, as long as you get one for a hatch. For bumpers, I'd stick with what you got and get lips. Be sure to get 96-98 shape lips.

Awesome, thank you for all the help. Really appreciate it

Would my car be considered a DX or a CX for the trim model?? And what’s the difference??

Not an expert as we dont have cx/dx in the UK but found this online:

CX has a plast spoiler.
DX has an aluminum spoiler.

CX has no radio.
DX has an AM/FM.

CX has no A/C.
DX had the option.

CX has 13" wheels.
DX has 14" wheels with covers.

cx was 92-95 and dx 96-00 from memory, so would wager yours is dx

Buddy Club front, rear and sides. Feel's spoiler. Can't tell if the rest of it is real, but the spoiler is definitely a replica.

Yea I’m not a fan of that spoiler myself anyways but thank you for the help
