Hello guys,

I have a B16A forged bottom end using Wossner 12.5:1 high compression Pistons and a B16B head (standard but flowed). I must admit I don't know the actual assembled compression but everything's down to the bare bones to try and get it as high as possible. Engine uses throttle bodies with ASNU 440cc injectors and a 2.5" equal length 4-2-1 straight through. Engine is fitted to a rally car.

My questions were, what spark plugs do people usually opt for for this kind of spec? I was tempted to stick some average NGK's in to get it started and to do part first of the mapping - then move onto race plugs for the final parts of the mapping.

Another thing was engine oil. Considering spec and application, what do people recommend?

Thanks in advance.

John

Those pistons must have a huge dome to achieve a static compression of 12.5:1 on a b16a! Regarding the plugs I would start with heat range 7 and after some running inspect them to determine if you require to go a step colder or not. BKR7E-11 plugs will be fine to use.

I am a big fan of Fuchs Titan Pro S oil, been using it for years on NA and FI Honda engines.

Thank you. I see from your posts you are well versed in mapping and b series tuning. Any predictions on what power I may see from my setup, estimated? I would like 200 fly, 180 wheels ideally. Think it's achievable?
