Hillclimbing an EK9.

Good luck. Are the classes just based on engine capacity and there is free reign on modifications?

Well just got back guys, awesome weekend away racing.

And the results are .............

EK9 smashed both events and set 2 new course records, also beat quite a few slick shod Modifieds too!! Great fun. She was Howling.

(Escy) The roadgoing classes are cc based but have to be on road tyres and minimal mods. (exhaust/air filter/shocks) Youre not allowed to take any bits off (I even leave in the spare) :)

Superb stuff, really makes menwant another EK for sprinting. Does yours compete in the <2000cc class or are you lucky enough to get smaller class divisions where you race?

The class splits are kind to me as they are up to 1600cc but had the cc split been up to 2000cc I would have still won. :naughty:
These little things are just mindblowing to say that it is standard apart from minimal mods.(Shocks/filter/ecu/exhaust)

I am seriously looking at buying another EK and stripping it out properly, fitting a cage and letting my daughter loose in the Modified classes.

Wel thats 7 of 7!!

7th event yesterday in horrendous conditions, managed to coax the EK into setting it's 7th course record in 7 events. More impressive is the fact that the course record was set in dry conditions by a quick CRX and I set a new record in the pouring rain!
2nd fastest saloon car overall (only beaten by a RWD Fiesta special on full wets)
I was on Kumho Ecsta 700 road tyres.
Awesome fun.

Thats a serious achievement for you and the car ! :nice:

You need to get some videos up

It may not be _just_ the car that is working properly. Well done! Would love to see some in-car footage as well!

Ha ha, even made the local paper.

Well done. Just show's how capable these car's are in near stock form, in the right hands of course:nice:

Thanks guys!!

I am doing a back to back test at our last 1/4 mile sprint event with a cheap PLM Hytech replica header (instead of the cheap ebay 4-1)

It will be interesting to see what the difference is on track against the clock.

Well thats the season over, phew!! It's been awesome, Saturdays sprint meeting went according to plan.
Quite a cold day but the car was running well, I wasn't able to fit the other header before the event due to having sciatica and barely being able to walk for the last 2 weeks so the car was raced in the same set up as last time.
But although running under the class record I set last Sprint I was beaten to first place ............... by my daughter!! Yep she beat me fair and square in the EK and set a new record!

Proud daddy thats for sure.:))

She managed a 15.15@94 on the Kumho's (sea front 1/4 which is slightly uphill and round a corner)
Dad managed a 15.23@93

But I did manage to secure first place in our Island championship for the 3rd year running with 2nd place going to a Methanol buring 2.0 Dallara and 3rd going to a space framed 500hp Chevvy powered racing car.

In the 21 year history of the championship no one has ever won it 3 times on the trot.

Chuffed!!!:))

This is great, congrats man, to you and your daughter. EK9 Looks the part too.
