Hitmo's Championship White JDM 96 Spec DC2

Great work, thanks for sharing the drive shaft rebuild.

Seen as the weather has been nice I finally got round to fixing my car! As some of you may know I've had knocking on turns and wobble on acceleration since I bought the car which I diagnosed to be the steering rack and driveshafts.

Spent about 8 hours dropping out the subframe, swapping the steering rack and driveshafts and fitting my new manifold :D

I'm having the same problem with mine, was this a big job? im looking to change the shafts and steering rack as there is some fluid pissin out of it. did it cost much to do?

i did mine not alot to do it but it is a long haul job especially if solo :((
p.s nice teg man once i get the eg6 sold and the ek im getting one!!

Changing the shafts is easy, rebuiliding them is also easy but just time consuming, especially if you go to the lengths I went to! The steering rack was a big job just because you HAVE to drop the subframe, there's no way around it. Luckily I had a friend helping me so it wasn't so bad, I would imagine doing it solo would be a nightmare!

Funny thing was, I swapped the steering rack, just to find it was perfectly fine, and the knocking problem was due to some loose bolts on the upper control arms! doH! The OEM shafts did actually solve my wobble on acceleration tho.

Unbelive able clean very good work, thanks for share'n with us.. the headlamps is like new fairplay lad, so how did u do it step by step?? lol
any more plans for it??

Well it's about time I updated this! Not alot has gone on, just been using the car for work and some fun at the weekends :)

Anyway, I've decided I want to take on some track days in the new year, and therefore I've taken a more track inspired approach with the teg.

First of all, I bought a Godspeed X Brace

Still need to respray the interior as the waxoil makes it look a right mess!

Also going to upgrade my brakes, I already have some Legend twin pot calipers to go on, so I picked up this 1" MC for the extra braking performace

Also bought some brand new wheels from Rarerims off eBay at a bargain price!

Never owned brand new wheels before, they're so perfect I almost don't want to use them! :p

Only problem is, 2 of the wheels are in gunmetal/chrome, (hence the bargain price) so they will be sent off to get powerdecoated matt black.

And finally I picked up some nearly new Yokohama AD08s for track days :)

good tyres. they performed amazingly for me!
but im planning to try some a048s next ;)
love the x-brace btw

Cheers guys, I'm looking forward to see what the tyres are like, and have some fun on track!

Quick question, does anyone know if the tyres will become hard if I store them in my garage over winter? They're only months old...

Not really got an update, but I gave the car a wash and decided to take some pics :)

My rear calipers also gave up on me the other day so I'm pricing up a full upgrade atm, can't decide what to go for, I'm so indecisive!! Even drew up a spreadsheet because I'm such a big fat geek!
