So I happened to acquire a new civic. Wasn't really planned at all. I bought a CRX shell of Billb with the intention of putting a b series in and using that. I got a new job which involved me needing a car quite quickly. The CRX wasn't going to be finished in time and my friend had this ED7 sitting in his garage after he bought it and decided an EP3 would be a better choice for him.

Anyway cut a long story short he is saving for a house and offered me the car for a price i couldnt refuse. The car was previously owned by Jason who is a member on North East Hondas, it was originally silver and he painted it with a roller to be white. As you can imagine its not the best of paint jobs but looks okay from a distance.

My friend started to rub down the car and add primer etc as he planned to spray it him self.

The car spec at the moment is

D16a9 Chipped Rover Ecu Billb Map
Spoon Mirrors
Eibach Coilovers
Nardi Rep Wheel
Random Gearknob
After Market Exhaust
Golf Front Lip
Aftermarket LCAS
Ebay Lower Tie Bar
Fusion Speakers
OZ Racing Cronos Wheels

So the plans are to use this a daily while i finish building the CRX and then sell it on. The car is already booked in for a full respray. I will be finishing fitting all the interior parts as there is still a few missing from when it was striped and also giving it a general tidy up.

Then i need to decide whether to turbo the D16 for some cheap thrills or swap all my B series stuff from the CRX onto this and K the CRX

But i will see what pops up as time goes on. Here are all the photos my friend has of the car none of these are my own pictures as i wont be collecting it for another week or so.

awesome lil car hope you keet alla bupers and trim black they look awesome all panda :D

Yeah i think i will be keeping them black, going up tomorrow to put it back together and do some undersealling. May have to hold the respray untill next month as i think it needs four new tyres as well little list of things to do on it!

Went and seen the car today and did some bits and bobs.

This is how it was when we arrived all tucked up.

My friend who I have bought it off mentioned the arial delete had been bodged, so first things was to take a look and see what was needed, here is a photo of whats left!

The washer jets where blocked and not working correctly so we had some new hose to fit!

This didnt really go to plan as I had some new washer jets to fit as well but we snapped one of them and the other one was ****, so looks like ill have to buy some jazz ones! We fitted the new pipe form the split under the bonnet anyway.

We then rolled the car out the garage and i took a photo to compare the newly painted front and the roller job that was previously. Not that this matters as its going to get sprayed anyway.

The wiper blades where suffering from the classic bits of paint missing so give them a quick lick of black.

I wanted to try give the arches a bit of rust protection and give them a clean out to check for rust etc. I only have one photo of this process but we took the wheel off used a wire brush etc and did our best to get the excess dust off. Left with an arch like this

Then gave it a lick of rust protection

I grabbed a quick photo of the underneath while it was jacked up. The exhaust rubs on the anti roll bar I'm going to be looking for a a mongoose or scorpion system i think as i prefer the OEM twin looking exhaust.

Mike had these laying around so decided to use them for the front arch lining, unfortunately they are a little to thin so not the best.

New wheel came today! Much prefer this look and its a genuine nardi! Currently waiting for my matching gearknob to turn up.

Need to fit this fit the gearknob and fit the spoon brace.

I missed my spot for the respray so need to wait till the end of the month now.
Car seems to be pulling to the left a lot when braking and accelerating, any suggestions as to what to look at ?

A very cool civic~ I love this style very much!

New tyres going on!

Lad at work had this stereo in his car that was getting scrapped so i acquired it. The main reason being the rear iPod attatchment.

Hoping to achieve this

Also bought some little bits and bobs, my car doesnt have an ariel so I'm going to try one of these internal jobbies heard mixed reviews about them I'm hoping to mount it somewhere not visible but unsure how well it will work.

Also bought some central door locking! I have never owned a car with central door locking so I'm quite excited to be honest haha

I also took a trip to see Rob Horner for the rear plastics and parcel shelf to finish of the rear interior. I took the parts out of my old Civic (the one in the display picture) So a bit of my old honda lives on in my new one! Will update with photos once i have it all fitted properly.

Next up is going to be the respray hopefully at the end of the month. Been seriously considering what to do with this car as its only meant to be a stop gap till i get the CRX sorted but slowly falling in love with it. It needs the front suspension looking at as it pulls to the left like a bitch and the steering feels very sloppy.

I also have an issue with the heaters, they dont blow on the windscreen if you change it they just blow out all four. Do you think this could just be a pipe or something not connected ? Anyone got any ideas what to look for ?

Little bit of progress been made over the last few days.

Got me self a geniune nardi gearknob to match the new steering wheel

My mate also had a "fender" washer kit that i got off him to tidy up the bay when i get into that.

So Matt volunteered to help me fir the central door locking, i basically spent the day watching him do all the work.

479880_173077506176102_595754878_n.jpg

The mirrors electrics had been erm slightly bodged so matt tidied it up with some proper tape instead of selotape.

Here is the internal arial that i bought off ebay, because i have no roof lining in it seemed a good idea to mount it so when i find a roof liner it will be hidden so i set about doing that while matt cracked on with the real work, it looks very cheap!

Heres matt finding a place to mount the main unit for the central door locking.

And another of matt doing something else haha

540724_173077649509421_2049324753_n.jpg

Not many photos of the actual fitting of the central door locking. We managed to get one side fitted and ran the wire through the door, this involves taking the door off! Which was a massive pain to be honest. One side worked fine so we set about doing the second side. We managed to mount the motor to the door and then tested it with the wiring before we put it through the door. The open and close function worked perfect. So we finished mounting the motor then did another test. The doors would only lock but not open. We hadn't changed anything it just wouldnt work. Matt checked a few things and we had no idea so i rang the number that was on the ebay advert and the man talked us through some stuff that didnt work so i need to send back the main control unit and both fobs to see if there is an issue with them and wait for them to get back to me.

MASSIVE thanks to Matt for helping out with this though! I'm sure he will try to avoid round two!

Also i ordered some track rod ends of euro car parts got twenty five percent off with the code PARTS25 so they cost me £17 not to bad.
