I've had a few Honda's , check out my previous build threads.

This time I've got something kinda rare, something JDM, it needs a fair bit of work BUT it's a keeper for sure!

As far as I can remember I've always wanted one! And I've always thought they're F*cking SICK

A friend of mine owned the car for about 7 years or maybe more.

He was running a B18C Hi Comp Toda built engine which was mated to a M factory short ratio gear set along with a plated diff and some crazy final drive! The car was an animal and had a pretty good reputation.

He later sold the running gear and parked the car up.

The car has been stood outside for about 4 years, and I think he lost interest in it.

When I was a couple of weeks in to breaking my MB6 VTI-S he called me and asked if I wanted the car, I didn't know if he was being serious, simply because I've asked him to sell me the car a few times and he always laughed it off lol.

So I went to check the car out, and it needed a fair amount of work! Running gear was the obvious thing, under a close inspection it was apparent the car needed some good TLC to get it back to its former glory!

I was in 2 minds as I was saving up for a EVO or a scooby, but it's not everyday you get offered a EG6 SiR, especially a Factory black one

Here's a few pics of the car when I went to view it.

The car was a state! Cats had been chilling in it for God knows how long

Anyways, I told him I'll take it, and we set a deal, he was going to take the Wings west kit off, grids, exhaust and a few braces off, didn't matter to me as all that can come later.

So we shook on it, and I waited for his call the next day.

So I got a call the next day, and the car was ready, he put all the interior parts he had In the car, and took off what ever wasn't in the deal.

Replaced the rota grids with Fat fives with all 4 centre caps! Rather have the fives then the grids as they are doing same money as the grids and are harder to get hold of day by day.

Before we got the car on the recovery truck, gave it a quick jet wash to get all the 4 years of Sh*t off it.

Now I'll forget about the car for a couple of weeks, and get some other things sorted out, such as getting the MB6 ready for sale.

Once I got a few hours to my self, I went down and emptied all the bits out of the car, need a few bits and bobs.

All need a good clean and the seats might get a wet vac at some point.

Got my hands on this pretty rare OEM MOMO DC2 Non airbag steering wheel.

Managed to grab it at a good price!

Needs a re trim, might get it redone in Alcantra/suede or leather.

Also got some replacement bolts

FREEEEEEEEEBIIIIIEEEEE!!!!

Well chuffed with this one

A good mate of mine had this in his attic for the best part of 10 years, he gave it to me, when I asked what he wanted for it, he goes keep it , I don't want anything :win:

Honda Access MOMO non Airbag steering wheel

Also came on the EJ2 (EG coupe) Black magic edition

The cover comes off the wheel, like the MX5 MOMO wheels! Looks decent.

Ill try to grab some pics with the cover off.

Managed to get some RARE SiR 2 front seats.

My driver's one is torn like the one in the pic, what I may do is try to swap the back rests over, if not I'll have to butcher one seat up and get the fabric cut out and retrim my original seat.

Might even use some of the checkered material, to re trim my armrest and gear gaitor ;)

My boot lock was different for some reason, so there was no point having 2 or 3 Diffrent keys for the car.

Rang up Honda tried to buy a OEM new lock set, but they was discontinued.

Ended up getting a new one from a specialist lock company in Germany!

I checked them out once they came! And they are exactly the same as my OEM ones! What a relief

Also bought 2 New OEM Honda blank keys.

Today I finally got a half a day to my self, got a few things to clean the EG, and I cracked on.

The car was FILTHY! parked outside for about 4/5 years or so and think his cat used to occasionally pop in and have a nap :lol:

So time to rip eveything out and give it a good clean so I can get in lol.

Pics don't do justice lol, the car is alot cleaner now lol

Pretty pleased the floor is all solid!

Some surface rust in the boot, but it's all solid, it's a little pitted but hopefully that'll be sorted soon.

Might rip the sound deadening out at some point.

Took me the best part of 15 minutes to get this out!

Didn't want to damage it or break it! Because they probably will be hard to get hold off I presume!

Behold the little JDM mat holder thingy

Some motivation!

Love the OEM look especially with the fat fives :naughty:

Hopefully mine should look like this when its done!

Maybe a few subtle touches of my own to make it perfect
