Love the bad boy style bonnet, funny how I started to want one myself a few weeks ago.
Colour is beautiful also

cars lookin sick man love those wheels i need them haha.

Id say the pictures dont do the colour justice bet it looks way nicer in person

So the cars back in the unit and drying off, going to start taking a few things off to go to powder coating, and start refurbishing some wheels, whilst painting some interior bits black! But I'll go through this...

Some good photos started to pop up from Ultimate stance on Sunday, and also been accepted for Mimms Honda day on the 10th December

Update:
Not much really going on, but the car is inside and covered up,
Got a few engine bay parts off the car.
Removed the throttle cable mount
Powers stearing bottle mount
Gearbox mount
Engine mount
Expansion tank mount

image.jpeg

Then also got to work on my spare rocker cover,
Decided to try and smooth it a little, as I didn't want to remove the "Honda" logo I removed the two horrible lugs on the top and back,
image.jpeg

Then took them all to powder coating was originally going to go the same colour as previous, nardo grey but got carried away with fancy colours again!
Get them back in about a week after getting shot blasted, coated and clear coated.

Don't get the rocker cover shot blasted or powdercoated, so many engines get ruined because of them!

Why's that?
The company doing it have done rocker covers a lot before, will only be the face of the cover being blasted and painted

So many cases of the grit not getting cleaned from behind the baffles properly and mixing in with the oil and ruining the engine man. Also been cases of the powdercoat flaking off and killing engines.

Have a read of this from Sams build. http://www.ek9.org/index.php?threads/swts-ek9-turbo-build.70097/page-22

Nice work btw, been following quietly but never had any good input haha. See you at Mimms :)

Aaa

Ahhhhh Never really thought about that! Are the baffles removable?
Ok thanks man!

If my engine dosent get gritted all be here

So, power coated parts came back!
The colour and finish is incredible

So that's the rocker cover smoothed, engine mount, gearbox mount, power stearing bracket, expansion tank bracket, throttle cable liner all blasted and powder coated!
Fitted everything back on apart from the rocker cover which I need to deep clean and fit new seals.

Sorted a blow on my manifold
And trimmed the rear arch where it was rubbing

Just waiting on a few little bits to arrive
To carry on with other things

Been a while since I posted on here.
But been having a deserved rest from the car and finishing off the s13. Got it all running and built up and took it to a drift day.

Day was perfect and ran like a queen! Drives incredible and very responsive.

Back to the civic.
So I had the unit to myself
For this week running up to mimms on Sunday!

Stuck some other wheels on the car and lowered the coilovers all round
Reducing abit of camber on the rears.
image.jpeg

Also took the wings off and fitted some mesh grill to finish off the vents.
image.jpeg

Had a mate open up an online shop "peaceontheroad" he focuses on importing some wild Jdm products from Japan so feel free to check him out. He had some kick ass stickers made up so gave him the prime spot on my windscreen. And moved the "project191" sticker onto a sunstrip.
image.jpeg

.....

Stew at Mjc automotive sent me some more engine bay hard wear.
He's re designed the washers and they look so much better!
Got 30 of them and replaced everything they fit into! Even stuff you can't see

image.jpeg

Once this was done I fitted some plugs to the wiring for my front bumper spot lights. Instead of spade connectors for a safer and more secure fitting. Still easy and quick to unplug when the bumper needs to come off.
image.jpeg

Just waiting for some spark plug tube seals to arrive for the new rocker cover then the bay is ready!

Update;
So my cam cover spark plug seals turned up from tegiwa very fast service!
So got them fitted then bolted the painted rocker cover back on!
image.jpeg

image.jpeg

Reduced the camber up front and gave the car a quick polish.

That's all that I'm doing for mimms!
As in going to be making a true start on the interior after the show and over Christmas.

Update!

So on Saturday I took the car up Derbyshire a little bit and went to bakewell for a Photoshoot with "higher level"

Was very hard to find a good spot as the village was mega busy!! And for some reason a lot of bird watchers!! Which a loud civic dosent really help..

But the shoot went down well

After this mimms was on Sunday 11th!
All in all was a very good show!

Turnout wasn't massive but some good cars to look at for the last show of the year! Was a 2 hour drive and some easy roads.

Was at stoneleigh park in Coventry s good venue but very cold!!

Anyway everyone seemed to love the car! And it went down well again! A lot of people came for a chat

Ps. Sorry for the amount of photos

But the car is back in the unit and ready for some more work over the winter season!

All comments welcome

Wow! Feels like it's been ages since the last update,

But a lot of work has been done!
So! Firstly the car came back into the unit so I could finish off a lot of little touches that I had to rush and skip.

Here we go, I have some pictures of things and unfortunately I don't on others.
- My throttle cable felt really slack, so I redesigned it and it feel really good now!
- The whole exhaust came off as it started blowing really bad on every joint, had new gaskets everywhere, raised the exhaust a lot more and it now tucks up perfect.
- Fitted new manifold studs and spike supplied by Mjc automotive
image.jpeg

- when the manifold was I gave it a good polish up to best I could by hand
image.jpeg

image.jpeg

- replaced both lambda sensors
- fixed the rattle in the back box and replaced the tip to a 3'1/2 one as it 4 inch started to burn the rear lip and it didn't poke out enough for my liking
image.jpeg

- replaced all the exhaust hangers to some much stronger and stiffer ones
- added an adjustable slider rail to the drivers seat (was much needed)
- won a cheap flocked interior piece off eBay so fitted that along with some footwell lights,
- fitted a 5 panel wink mirror supplied by Mjc with some Mjc automotive washers
image.jpeg
image.jpeg

- picked up some
16" Schumacher edition BBS with a fair bit of curbing so gave them. Refurb with new gold writing centre caps,
painted in Mercedes iridium silver
image.jpeg
image.jpeg
image.jpeg

- Swapped out the front springs on the coilovers for some shorter and much stiffer ones bringing the car much lower
image.jpeg
image.jpeg

Please excuse the dusty car!

SO! This is the good bit!
Started with the boot build,
With the boot I wanted access to my spare wheel, a much more secure location for my battery and a sub. Over all I wanted a nice simple floor.

Started off with making some templates to get the shape of the plastic, made them with bits of cardboard.
image.jpeg

Then cut that template out in some wood, as I wanted the access to the wheel I cut the wood in half so it just lifts out with out any struggling
image.jpeg

Also made the template for rear section, this bit was much harder as I needed to work out where the supports for the floor go after that I then cut it out in the wood again.
image.jpeg

I then needed to work out where my batter was going to go! I didn't want it just bolted down anywhere, I wanted it to look like it has a place, so got hold of a motamec battery tie down, really good quality and very strong.
image.jpeg

So with locating it I put it behind the Passanger seat, but I cut the floor to sink it down a little bit adding more strength to the floor with this.
image.jpeg

(Wood was roughly in place)

Next was to drill some holes for the harness to go through and clip in
image.jpeg

Then next was to work out where I wanted my sub!
Decided on having it inbetween my harnesses.
image.jpeg

But then I didn't want it too simple
So I cut the wood and made it sit on an angle, giving me more room to build the box.
image.jpeg

Test fitted it to see how big the box can be
image.jpeg

Then went ahead and fixed more supports to everything and sealed it all in with the sub box and all the wiring, putting the settings for the sub directly inbetween the seats, for easy access.
- NEXT POST

Sub settings in place
image.jpeg

Once all the sealer had set I painted all the edges black and the fabric I was laying is also black.
Cut the fabric to shape and stuck it down with some strong adhesive
image.jpeg

Then secured the battery down and added a strip of metal on the underneath to add much more stengh and make it a lot more secure!
image.jpeg

image.jpeg
image.jpeg

Once that was done I let it all dry then got it back in the car to
Fasten down using the old seat bolts and some other threaded holes in the car,
image.jpeg
image.jpeg

Fitted the battery And found a new earth for the then wired the power for the sub in.

Fitted the battery in and screwed the sub into the box, clipped in all the harnesses. Layerd the fabric on to the other two peices of floor and job done!
Very happy with how it turned out.

That boot build is exactly what I wanted to go for before I decided on race car. Sort of regret not going that route now since yours has come out so well

WOAH! Well I am sorry it's been ages since I've posted anything!!

Not a massive amount gone on but some good news.

So firstly I got bored of the BBS and sold them on, wanted some wheels nobody has so set a search out and come upon some Keskin kt5's 7.5j front
9j rears. Fake splits (ew)

But I they caught my eye so i swapped some cash for them

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

Full of horrible deep curbing, loads of lacqure worm in the lips and heavy corrosion.
Set upon and my ways and re sanded and polished the lips.
image.jpeg

As I wanted to make even more of a one off and the fact I don't like fake splits I started to drill the little fake bolts out.
image.jpeg

Once I'd drilled them all I got a little fibreglass in the holes and a tight skim of filler (a lot of sanding!!)
image.jpeg

image.jpeg

Once all sanded, I masked them up, primered them all and got some paint on, went for a pale pearl grey (to match the headlights) but this time put a glitter coat and lacquered them!

Was super happy how they turned out!
image.jpeg
image.jpeg

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

After swapping the tyres for some 195/45/16 on the rears they tucked up into my arches perfect!!

Then drove the car nearly 5 hours to players classic! A show at Goodwood circuit!

Car drove faultless!!
image.jpeg

Popped some white little tron/bumper lines on to change the look a little bit!
Also stuck my bumpstrips back on but once they had been carbon fibre skinned, (for some reason I don't have any close ups of them)

Finally put my AEM high flow fuel line back on the inlet
image.jpeg

Then thought it clashed a little bit so refurbed my grey rocker cover and popped that back on, this time with a glitter top coat like the wheels.
image.jpeg

Had another show up in Newcastle called kulturschock which I highly recommend!
Best show I've been to so far!
Took part in car limbo which I measured at 1.29 to the roof! (Need to go lower)

Another update!

Probably the thing most of you guys are interested in!
The cars power, so a dyno day came up at a local power league called (top gear Stockport) - focus on custom exhausts

As I hadn't really built the car for power I just popped a few things on that helped in some ways and made it more appealing to looks at.

I decided to book the car on with a few other friends and see what it made!

Well! I was gobsmacked
So read up that standard they put down about 89/90bhp with 125nm torque

On the dyno is produced 124bhp and put down 146.9nm torque!

I only expected around 100!
The car was ran on 97octane so don't know if this made any difference but it spat a huge flame on the overdrive

image.jpeg

Won't let me upload a video, but there is one on Instagram @T_fozzy

Does anyone know the most a D14a4 has produced whilst still being naturally aspirated?
