Honda Civic Type R EK9 CW (Face Lift) 2000

Hi All,

FOR SALE – Honda Civic EK9 Type RX 2000 Facelift

Hi all, time has come to sell on my 9. I have owned the car since 2013, when I bought it from this exact thread! Please have a good read of the above advert from Simon as it is much more detailed than anything I could ever muster.

I’m selling up purely because I have fallen out of love with it. I have a few other cars which I drive daily, a hobby which takes up a fair amount of my time and a dog which I won’t allow anywhere near it, so unfortunately I just don’t use it. When I got it out this spring after its hibernation I just didn’t get the same buzz and excitement from it as I used to, even if I tried to kid myself for a while. I’m also in the process of purchasing a bigger house and it would probably handy to have the cash set aside for a new kitchen or something ****-boring like that…

Anyway, enough of my life story, here is the bits you will want to know if you are looking for such a thing –

I won’t go into details of the spec, I don’t think I need to for a forum ad! It’s a facelift Type RX, so it is what it is. Elec mirrors, AC, etc.
ODO now reads just over 90K miles. It was converted to MPH at 52231KM 32454 so by my calculations that means it has covered just over 70K miles.
Since I’ve owned the car, it has been serviced and looked after by Performance Autoworks at Fairford. I have all the receipts and service book up to date. The service history is complete and to an insane level of detail (photos to follow). I have just replaced the entire brake system (discs and pads) for genuine Honda parts – this was my winter job. I have done less than 50 miles since, so they still need working in. I don’t have a receipt for these, as I have a mate at Honda….(wink wink), but I have photos of the parts before I put them on plus I’m happy to take a wheel off to should you the stamped discs if needs be. I have also done the cambelt myself because I had one, it wasn’t due but thought I may as well. Again, I have all the packaging for this. It’s also just had a brand new battery, the last one died as a result of not enough use. This has a 3 year guarantee.

Car is completely standard barring a decat pipe (I still have the jap cat). Overall condition is exceptional. It isn’t showroom, but it’s fairly dam close. It does have a couple of tiny imperfections in terms of the odd stone chip, but the car really is as clean as I believe you will find. The interior is immaculate, the Recaro’s still have the little stickers on the back of the seats which come from the factory – again photos to follow. The passenger one looks suspiciously like it’s never been sat in, although it obviously has. There is no stereo in it at the moment, but I will try and source one before sale.

Car has just had a MOT, so is good to go in that respect. It is also currently taxed and insured, although I’m not sure how this all works now with the new tax laws.

Currently running Yokohama AD08 tyres – wheels are obviously standard and painted in Champ White. It was one of my winter jobs to have them re-sprayed, but once I got them off I decided they didn’t need doing. Never been anywhere near a curb.

Everything on the car works, there are no faults to report. AC is still icy. Doesn’t smoke on VTEC or use any oil of note, not that I do the mileage in it to really notice. No crunches or funny noises, any inspection or compression test is obviously welcome for serious buyers.

Car is garaged permanently at my house, it hasn’t seen rain or a winter road that I can recall. I did get caught the other day in a garage reshuffle, but other than that….

The only bad point I need to mention is this – there is a crack in the windscreen. This happened with a particularly big pot-hole in the road that I just didn’t spot, it haunts me to this day. The only reason I haven’t had it changed is that a friend of mine has put the fear of God in me about them scratching it whilst they change it. Pathetic I know, but it is what it is. The new owner will have to take the risk! Ha. Picture to follow!

I haven’t taken any photos as yet. I cleaned it over the weekend, but since then I’ve been too busy or it’s been raining. Obviously I will get and take some new pictures ASAP but I can’t promise when that will be. I can send some random phones ones if you give me a shout, but it looks identical to the photos in Simons original add.

Price – Set at £7750. Not really sure if this is correct or not, I haven’t done any research into current market. I have taken into account the windscreen.

Not that I expect it from people on here, but please don’t ask me what’s the lowest I’ll take, or offer me £500 and a PX or a Concerto, I just won’t reply. The price is the price, serious buyers will come and look at the car and talk money then. If you feel there are parts of the car that mean money can be knocked off, or that I’ve misrepresented it, then we can discuss that then. It won’t be the case, but you can try ;) I will try and sell it on here first as I’d rather it go to another forum member like when I bought it. Slightly disappointed I cant start my own thread, but I guess because I don't post very often that instantly means I'm a dirty bas**ard.

Any questions or you want to talk about it, give me a should on here, on 07453322616 or on alex.barnes701@googlemail.com.
