Hey guys. Im wondering if anyone has this specific information. Im currently having 16" 98' ITR rims, and Im thinking to install some stock EK9 or light weight ones, if the EK9 rims are heavy.

Thanks. :)

I did read that, sorry but I meant to ask about the weight of the rims (or rather one rim) alone. :)

The 16" ITRs are lighter? Now thats a surprise... these rims felt heavy when I lifted them. That would only mean that the EK9 rims are worse? (Although the inertia drag would still be less)

My mistake I didn't read the 16" part, I know that 15" ITR wheels are 1 - 2 pounds lighter, sorry for the misunderstanding :)

4 bolt ITR wheels are 12.3,

EK9 Wheels weight 15.87 pounds , weighted mine :)

No worries rvm. :)

Thanks for the infos SpoonCTR. Around 16 pounds is heavy  Considering that the lightest commercial rims are like 8+ pounds.

Do they make a big difference, I wonder? I wanted to purchase a set of Advan RC2 but they were sold.

Lightened wheels improve alot the car acceleration, especially the EKs which are greately affected by weight. If you can afford, buy a set of 15" Volk Rays and your will notice the difference. These rims are the lightest wheels you can find but the most expensive :( They cost around $1600
If you go for the 17", then be prepare to spend around $2500!!

I had a set of volks te37s, but I change them to SSR Type C they are lighter! :nice:

volks te37s = 10.58 pounds
ssr type c = 9.70

Both wheels in 15" :nice:

Ok thanks for the correction, but how much did you pay for the SSRs and how much for the Volk? I think Volk are way more expensive, right? And the most expensive in the market :nerv:

Thanks Manos. If the difference is a lot Ill just fork out the extra cash, since it will probably beat spending money on an exhaust system with the other engine parts remaining stock anyway. :D

I believe the 6.5J size for TE37 are around 9 pounds in weight as well. 10.x would be the 7J ones if I recall correctly...

SSR's are costlier here in my place than TE37s. Ill probably try looking around for some good second hand deals. $1600 is steep!

You can get them around the same price you will pay for the Volks, I traded my volks te37s in gold, for some white ssr type c :) :nice:

geeezzz....

Just received Volk Racing SE37's 16"x8 and weighed them today... 12.5lbs/5.6kgs

dohhhhh!!!!

hmmm, but considering that stock wheels are 15.87lbs/7.19kgs... :woot:
