Honda made
7007 EK9-100 (1998 models),
4009 EK9-110 (1999 models) and
5225 EK9-120 (2000 models)
so there were 16241 EK9 Civic Type R manufactured in total.
Stopped production huh? There's actually a 2002 plated EJ9 I've seen in Ireland. How do you explain that?

All i Know is he amount around today must be alot less. all the crashed ek9s on forums & owners breaking them for parts the numbers must be going down pretty fast ( Oh well keeps them rare
also interesting are the JDM EK4 production numbers:
3061 EK4-100 (1996 models)
1787 EK4-110 (1997 models)
684 EK4-120 (1998 models)
641 EK4-130 (1999 models)
470 EK4-140 (2000 models)
in total there were 6643 JDM EK4 Civics manufactured.
I think Honda created their own rival with the Type R EK9 Civic. And I think that the last produced JDM EK4 are automatic transmission. Because the EK9 never was availeble with AT and some customers wanted AT and a topmodel engine.
I believe soHi guys, just brought a 97 ek9 and chassis number ends 000186 does this means it’s number 186 off the production line?
indeed it does.Hi guys, just brought a 97 ek9 and chassis number ends 000186 does this means it’s number 186 off the production line?
It’s held up surprising well, no welding and original rear arches are great. Brought it as a complete rolling shell, currently doing a kswap so I’ll get some picture up sometime.indeed it does.
according to the EK9 register it was imported in 1997? :O
I'd be interested to see how its holding up after it's whole life here
