2 gigs of ram
256mb graphics card with dvi/hdmi/svideo
seagate 7200rpm 500gb sata hard drive
dvd burner
802.11 gb card
shuttle case with audio ports on front
power supply
fans
2 pcmcia slots

You ain't tryin to get me to build it are you? ;)

I'll look up the prices and get you an estimate later. I gotta get some sleep. College starts back-up tomorrow (well, actually today since it's 2:21 AM).

hahaha no no no i gots a friend locally who can fix it, your on standby to fix the fansubbers computers to keep the steady flow of anime :nice:

wow nice parts you got there.....:nice: is that computer for games or for downloading animes? :). I want to tune up my computer too...:D.... any suggestion for good 3d card for games and dvd rom?

no i just wanna be able to multi-task and watch high resolution anime :)

amd 64x2 4400+ 2.3ghz + motherboard : Around $10
2 gigs of ram : Ram can vary from $50-250 Depending what RAM you go for
256mb graphics card with dvi/hdmi/svideo: Same with Graphics cards, you need to be more specific. These can vary from $70-1000
seagate 7200rpm 500gb sata hard drive : Around $100-200
dvd burner : $30-100
802.11 gb card : not a clue
shuttle case with audio ports on front : $75-400
power supply : $100
fans :$40
2 pcmcia slots : not a clue

You really need to be specific on what you actual want, if you tell me what you need your PC for, usage, etc. I can put a good spec together for you.

Whats your budget?

sorry I didn't do this yesterday but I didn't have any time dude. School all day then work. I didn't even turn any of my computers on after work. I watched some Fresh Prince on TV and went to sleep.

I'm in class at the moment and when i get out, if I remember, I'll check into this for ya.

ok here is a list thats a little more specific:

amd 64x2 4400+ 2.3ghz + motherboard
2 gigs of 667-800 ddr2 sdram ram
Nvidia 8300gs 256mb graphics card with dvi/hdmi/svideo
seagate 7200rpm 500gb sata hard drive
samsung dvd burner
802.11 gb card
shuttle case with audio ports on front (Techy do these come with a mother board?)
power supply
fans
2 pcmcia slots

excluding tax and shipping, using my favorite brands, I could build this set-up for approx $750. Extra $15 and you'd have a slightly faster processor, extra $50, you'd have have a superior graphics card, extra $75 and even better graphics card. Subtract $100 if you wanted to get the cheaper Shuttle barebone with the lower end chipset but I would prefer the nForce 570 one.

Blinx, the Shuttles are barebones. They come with a motherboard, fans, Power Supply and other stuff. Also, what in the world do you need PCMCIA slots for. They're almost worthless now. They are predominantly for laptops. Almost no desktop has them.

Oh, and you might wanna add some cash in to the equation for possible needed cables and such (such as SATA or IDE cables)

i like pcmcia :) it let me upgrade my laptop A LOT, you can use it for a lot of stuff. which processor could i get for $15 more and which graphics card was superior for $50 more? i'll go up to $1000 if you think its worth it, but i'd prefer to stay low as possible :nice: do you have a link to the case your suggesting? thank you techy

Just shop newegg.

The Shuttle barbone is just the Socket AM2 one that has an nVidia nForce 570 chipset.

My preferred brands as a reference.

Memory - Corsair XMS
Graphics cards - EVGA (all EVGA cards have nVidia GeForce GPU's)
Hard Drive - Right now I prefer Western Digital but the best rated 500GB was a Samsung and that's the one I picked. I have WD, Samsung, and Seagate in my main rig but WD is probably my fav with Samsung and Seagate in second....... **** Maxtor.
CD/DVD drives - I've been using Lite-On forever but I just go by what gets rated 5-star on newegg.
Wireless Card - Buffalo

Also for $15 more you can get a good 4600
For $50 you can get a GeForce 8500GT instead of an 8400GS

I recommend core 2 duo, a lot faster than AMD x2, even the basic core 2 duo is quicker, so go that way especially if your getting a new motherboard. Never get a 8300 graphics card... minimum 8600GT or GTS. If your running vista, you'll need 2G ram, but if XP 1G is enough. hope this helps :D

well the amd 64x2 4600+blows away any core2duo within $100+ of its price range...
