Whats up,

me myself and my sane friend i
from california northern
owned a 97 type-r k20 swap stolen
own 00 type-r stock
looking for 97 or 98 ek9 type-r

reason why i joined this forum honda said ek9 was the best chasis they ever made but the engine was shitty.

they also said that the b18c was teh best motor they made so thats why im hear learn about the ctr chasis and handling witht he power of 1800cc.

yes im a jdm guy and no i dont liek ricers

nothings wrong with it on a ctr it just lacks torque. it even mentions it in the best motoring video type-r. thats why spoon made a stroker kit for the b16b to make it a b18b :) has the awsome chasis of the ek9 but the power unit of a integra.

yeah i have that dvd, but you have to realise those guys are used to drving super GT cars (formerly JGTC). i think you mean b18c spec r, b18b is a nonvtec motor, but yeah even though it lacks tq it can make up for that with its revability. i guess you can make a 1.8 rev high too with mods. anywho i love my b16b, sure it lacks some tq but a turbo can fix that :) but yeah if you plan on staying NA 1.6 aint gonna cut it unless you stay above 6500rpm 24/7.

thats why i want to get a ek9 97/98 those are the 2 years i like i dont know why but i jsut do. once i get the car i already have purchased the spoon stroker kit.

i have to agree that the ek9 is the best chassis honda ever made, of course in the sport compact market, because you cant compre a ek9 with and nsx.

b16b engine is a good engine, right now i think i can keep up with a stock itr in a straight away. i don't have any internals modification, just bolt ons. (race exaust, cpu)

Sooner or later i will need a engine rebuild, hope to get a spoon stroker kit.

By the way, i didn't know that in the USA the right hand drive cars were permitted, i want to know if it's a pain in the ass to register one? i have a cousin in san francisco that wants a ek9 hehehe

you can have rhd cars. this is what needs to happen

get the car shipped to the usa

pay the federal taxes/state taxes/import tax

pay customs fees

have it converted to epa standards which means california legal emissions
once its passed smog and is up to epa standards it will be issued a alternate vin number which isnt on the car. its more of a tracking number the sherifs and highway partol to know that the car is legal in the usa

thats pretty mcuh it

some places due all this for you but they charge way to much you can do it all yourself but its alot of paperwork an money. but some cars in japan i have found a 97 ek9 with 35,000kilometers for 7800 all stock no accidents

Sorry totally disagree saying the ctr engine is shitty ?:angry2:
The b16b is one of the best engines made and quickest 1.6 in its class after all its track racing history saying its **** is harsh.
1800cc doesn't have that much more torque to talk about lol ' in standard form'
The engine and chasis must be still one of the best do date just my 2p:D
The b16b with standard chasis is superb

ok me personally i dont think its shitty. reffering to honda and the owner of typeone garage also owner of spoon sports says the b16b is shitty for the ctr chasis thats why he made a 1.8L stroker. as for me im using this car as a building track car. im going to be building a b16b stroker turbo

b16b stroker turbo :nice: Nice look forward to the write up and loads of pics:shocked:

no point in spending 1200 for stock parts, instead of getting a stroker kit you can spend that 1200 on forged pistons and rods+install. then crank up the boost and make a reliable 400whp.
