Hi guys i am new to this but wanted to ask something, i have a EK4 civic hatch with a b16a in it, i bought it already modded and it has a K&N pod filter on it. When i give it like 25% throttle i get a whistle sound from the intake, and i thought it might of been a loose clamp or something, but then i took the pod and all piping off so air was going straight into the throttle body but i still get the whistle does anyone know how to solve this problem because i found it extremely annoying.

thanks

it's normal
you can reduse that noise installing oem airbox with resotators

ok, thanks, do you think cleaning the throttle body or doing anything else would help solve it ?

cleaning is good :nice:
but you cant erase something that is normal like the vtec sound when it kicks in..

lol man it isn't the sound of vtec, its an annoying whistle and i haven't heard of any car doing it before thats all, i just want it to stop :S

i tried changing the o ring on the sensor, didn't stop it, this is a real brain tickler, i can't work it out.

its the filter put a standard airbox on itll go away its the open filter sucking in air nothing to worry about!

well if i do that it will loose power do you know if the DC2 airbox will fit or of any air filter that will kill the noise but not the power ?

just put in a standard OEM filter to see if it goes away, doubt it will. ;)

Civic do have a whistle at about 25% throttle, this may be a normal engine intake sound.

If this really bothers you, turn up the radio! lol jk.
