Hello people i am turning to you guys who i know and trust,

i have been on some integra websites but no one seems to help me so i am going to ask you lot,

sorry its an integra and not a 9 but uno who i am and uno it wont be long till i have one..

i have an AEM long arm air intake and mongoose cat back system,

i need a new manifold and decat but i am on a tight budget, i have read about the sports cat and the JDM manifold? will this make much differance?and isnt the cat and manifold shorter (wont fit UKDM)

i have been looking around and found some manifolds on ebay but not sure if i should steer clear?

is the sports cat the best to go for or is a decat better? dont want to have to struggle to change the cat b4 MOT, and will the mongoose system fit the sports car?

any advice would be great

what you think? aftermarket or JDM?

many thanks

adam

if your on a very tight budget just get one off ebay, ive seen them for $120 usd in stainless steel!!! as far as the decat, im not sure cause in usa its a little different with the lengths.

nice one thanks for the help, i think i am going to get a reasonably priced one for now,

any one got any more tips ?

go for a sport cat (400cell) because then you dont have to change before MOT. The UK cat is longer compared to the JDM cat, the manifold in the link has a 2,5" collector so you will have to get a 2,5 cat aswell. I would not put that manifold on the car, it claims a 10bhp increas but i seriously doubt that. Another option for a manifold is from 5Zigen for $388, it´s a 4-2-1 with a 2,5 collector. Another good "cheap" header is the DC sport 4-1 header, it hangs low so if your car is slammed it can scrape on bumps.
The best mod I did on my old DC2 was when I changed to a Comptech Icebox.

Since you have an ITR, it would be fitting to only put ITR or higher quality parts on it. You should go with an actual JDM ITR 4-1 or better. With the aftermarket ones theres a risk of them being made cheaply, you may have to port match it using an oem gasket and a dremel/die grinder just to get the ports to match up. As for the cat, go with a high flow one that will still pass emissions, like a random technologies. The best cat hands down is sold by hytech exhaust.

I agree with Dino-Spumoni.

In my country the "decat" can be made for like 10 $ , if in your country you can have your car without a cat, you can you to the exhaust shop and pay for a 2.5 tube to replace the cat.

one more thing, if you get an ebay header, just make sure to get one with a 2.5" collector!!

i say dont get the 4-1 just cause they hang so damn low they are easily crushed!

yep, I have a ebay header with a 2.5" collector and is running good :nice:

OK cool thanks

i apologies for my slowness,

so my OEM manifold is smaller then 2.5 and the so is the cat?

what is the diameter of the Mongoose cat back system i have on? is the high flow cat 2.5 in and 2.5 out, or is it only the diameter from the manifold to the cat important?

please excuse my drawing but i am at work and rushing lol but you got to hand it to me, i pick the right profession as drawing is not my strong point lol.

Don't get a 4-1 if your car is street use

hangs low?

how low? to low to cope with?

if that is the case can anyone reccomend any 4-2-1 manifolds then for my teg and where to get them from

cheers

The ITR 4-1 isn't too bad for clearance, the piping is offset on the bottom solely for clearance. If it wasn't streetable honda wouldn't have used it on the ITR. Toda makes a good 4-2-1, as does hytech exhaust.

the 4-1 from the jdm dc2 is prob the only one that doesnt hang low, as it is oem fitment.
your mongoose system i believe is a 2.25 exhasut with your cat at 2.25 and your mani at 2-2.25''.
it is recommended that the itr should have a full 2.5''manifold - back

but honda did expect us to lower our cars like we do ;) everytime i see a used itr 4-1 for sale its always crushed a little at the bottom :( BUT there is a solution, fastline sells a skidplate to protect the manifold:

that is great info,

sorry to be dim, my mongoose chances are it is 2 1/4 and not 2.5.

will i have to get a whole new system (2.5) in order to fit a 2.5 cat and 2.5 manifold?

thanks for the advice people appreciate it

adam
