well lads does this fit straight on??
whats the story with the arm i prseume ud be using the teg one??
will it actually fit straight onto the intake manifold thought they were the same intake mani on the dc2 and ek9?:confused::confused:

cheers for your help:nice:

dc2 tb size was 62mm but it should still fit, might have to muscle it on though... good luck.

Yes it does, you just have to make sure you don't have any leak, you have to tighten it more since the ITR throttle body is bigger..

i need to find a how to on doing this as have a complete itr oem airbox i want to fit on my ek4, modification is needed but dont know exactly what, id rather know first before i make an attempt

ok, ive been working on this after i posted this morning, it pretty much simply fits straight on

the mods you have to do is drill hole in intake pipe for air sensor as itr pipe doesnt have 1

1 of the metal brake pipes rubs against ribbing on intake pipe so i cut notch about 2mm from the pipe

main problem is only 1 mounting point on intake bolts straight up to 1 of the oem points (1 at furthest at front of car), it just needs some washers to space it a little so box doesnt rub against engine mount bracket

the box should be ok but isnt 100% solidly secured as id like so you need to get 2 metal (could get away with just 1) brackets fabricated so you can attach other 2 mounting points on airbox to car but ill probably just get some aluminium strips that i can just about bend myself and drill couple holes in and jobs done

i havnt got the cold air pipe that fits onto bottom of box but will get 1 and should just about go on, if not ill just get some flexi pipe instead

no pics as dont have cam at the moment, sorry

Is it actually any better than the EK9 box?

Im pretty interested in this mod myself :)

bought some brackets from b&q (hardware store in u.k), they are just metal brackets 125mm long with some pre drilled holes, bendable by hand, had to drill holes little wider but box is very solidly secure now

you need the oem or some sort of cold air feed as went for blast and air temp was showing as 40 degree's on the move, before with icebox my air temps would be mid to late 20's or just over 30 if really putting car through paces

some brand of aftermarket filter in there but gonna look into replacing with something like k&n as know they flow well and fliter air well

hmmm, I dont think that this mod will benefit from an EK9 one... EK9 has more air filter surface which is why the bigger the filter the better.

im not sure either how this would be on an ek9, would be interesting to see effects on throttle response if gains or not although i suspect there would be slight gains, someone get there 9 on dyno and give it a test before and after, make sure air pressure and temp differences are calculated if done on different days

oh, i smashed up the the itr resonator and fitted the cold air pipe, again fits on but very tight, used couple rubber pads where it touches body and engine mount and just used some cable to keep it secure

I think SPOON uses something on their EK9 that looks like a replacement item from the DC2R.
