I want to install this on my car, with a fidanza flywheel. :nerv:

I currently have no a/c but i have power steering, how is the driving with no p/s ?

I'm curious to know if my engine will still be safe to run at the race track?

Thanks for your help.

i use one, i love it, as long as you have a non-stroked b16b its fine, driving without ps is np imo. if its a track car the flywheel will be nice too, just make sure you have atleast a 2.5" exhuast system and no cat, because the flywheel makes the car want to rev out a lot faster. please dont listen to people who say the n1 pulley will blow your car up becuase its not true.

nice how much are these?

85 $ with the belt! :nice:

i want to get one soon!

I only use the car for track, what do you guys think of a fidanza flywheel? blinx9900 what flywheel you got?

i want to install one too, but i'm curious how my car will handle with no power steering :(

no power steering is better, you have more feedback, steering feels more direct, but it is a little tiring, you may be a little sore the first few times if you have really sticky tires.

Spoonctr: i actually got really cheap on my clutch kit and got one of ebay, XTD stage 3 clutch 6-puck kit with xtd 8lb flywheel, so far so good, ill let you know how it holds up whith the turbo.

ive got one on mine, and its great 825g compared to 2.2kg as the std one is!

i run no p/s and love it, so much more feedback and feel for whats going on with the car. I also dont have arms like superman, its a little hard when parking - but i tend to stay still do all the turning then move + my itr rack is only 2.7 turns L2L so its good and once your going mre than a few mph you dont knowtice the weight of it any more.

Dont know about you guys but there are days where I get into the car feeling like I have no energy at all. No power steering on those days = :angry2:

The pulley doesnt look like its got a harmonic damper... Ive read arguments that suggest such pulleys cause some type of vibration (I dont remember the technical terms) to the crankshaft and at high rpms, this wears out the engine a lot more quickly. I wonder if its true?

Thats correct, thats why it's designed for B16B! if you put it on a B18 engine, you will have the risk of damaging it :angry2:

**** no powersterring mate.. lol you use a saxo 1.1i with no PS for a year and a bit while learning and tell me you dont want PS lol!

rvm, i know your car is track only, do this mod, you will love it. for the street it sometimes becomes tiresome but for the track i think its a great idea.

well in that case neither does the std pully on the 6b either! I cant say i know what the harmonic dampener looks like, but i hesitated fitting my n1 pully for this reason. But when i took the std pully off they looked identical bar from the obvious lack of pullys on the n1 version :p

that and my std pully had a big chip taken outta it - so i cant imagine that was doing much for the harmonics!

As blinx stated about the blowing up your car with N1 pulley, I have heard that rumor as well. People bring them to machine shops to get them balanced. I have a friend that has been rocking one forever with no problems.

As for the NO P/S, make sure you just don't plug up the rack. You might want to look into the "PADAWAN" P/S removal kit. Padawan is his username on Honda-Tech: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerouser?cmd=viewprofile&id=4850

Hmmm i didn't know that hey need to get balanced, since they're factory honda stuff? :nerv:

Exactly, but supposedly some people claim they're not.

And I think someone did take one to a machine shop which was NOT balanced correctly?

my opinion is that the crank is balanced only with the pulley was sold from the factory, since they have diferent weight how it can be balanced a crank with both pulleys ?
standar ek9 should be balanced with the stock pulley, and race base Rs are balanced with the N1.

HONDA ENGINES ARE INTERNALLY BALANCED!! balanceing the crank pulley is NOT to balance the motor, its so that it does not vibrate and brake your oil pump etc... all b16b cranks are the same and they are balanced internally!
