Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

Top speed up the hill was 120mph but that's without lifting for traffic. 112mph was with a tiny lift to be sure I was going to clear the traffic in time for the corner.
112mph is pretty shocking considering the power the car makes. I pulled more than that in N/A b18 form 2 years ago...
The engine is good as it pulls hard on the street but it seemed to die out on the track. Possibly heatsoaked or something.
Top speed on the entire track was 140+mph on a different section of track(earlier on in the lap so possibly not heat soaked yet?)
All the issues put an end to anything better than 8:20 unfortunately but no doubt I'll go back and hopefully have more luck.
just read all the issues from another post you made, seems like its all fun though :)

140mph must be mad haha awesome stuff dude

Yeah issue after issue, the lads I went with where cool though.
2 11oclock nights working on it in a row, then the previous owner of the car helped me sort brakes out Sunday morning so everyday the car had work to get it back out. Clearly not enough tracktime in the UK to find all these issues before hand.

Not updated in a while, been paying off the engine builds/Nurburgring trip.

In the mean time I've been under the car rust busting, not much other than minor surface rust on the seals and a small patch on the drivers side inner wing.
The underseal on the arches was pretty worn after 5-6years since it was done so I think I caught it just in the nick of time, majority of the car only needing a wash down and more underseal added onto the existing stuff.
Used POR15 in the parts that had the surface rust and in the front arches.
Two coats of underseal all over so it should be future proof for another 5-6years!
Not many pictures of this as my phone can't catch the dark underseal that well, I may borrow my brothers camera to get some decent shots of the underside as it looks pretty cool all one Matt colour.

Started the rebush aswell, I've only managed steering rack, shifter and front ARB bushings ATM as my brothers ep3 is on the driveway for surgery.

FARB bushes seen better days.
Massively oval and even a tear in one of them.

Update on the bushes front.
Turns out the energy "master"kit doesn't include the rear control arms or the toe arms.....
So good news is I'm nearly finished rebushing, bad news is I got to buy new arms(getting too old for all this rebush work)
Also found that I've got play in one of my inner track rods so that's more issues...

Now I've not been genuinely excited over a part since I got the forged goodies nearly a year ago. Today I had alittle moment when this little beaut turned up(brace yourselves)

Yeah boy!!(ok so it's not that impressive)
Tilton adjustable proportioning valve, going to delete the non abs 40/40 prop I've got now, run fresh lines all round and plumb this little sucker in the rear line. Should end my bias issues I've been having and is an excuse to rip up the carpet isn't it lol

Waiting on parts to finish up the bush install and afew more areas of rust busting to do then I can crack on with the Tilton.

Basically finished the undersealing, afew minor bits to cover when I get the car on the ramp at MOT.
Struggled to get pics with the iPhone but here's the front arches.

Painted afew of the front arms aswell so they look much better now. Just needs a set of shiney new Coilovers really...
So I can't do anymore bush work until I've got new rear arms etc, noticed one of my rear camber arms(cheap d2 things) has bent! So perfect excuse to replace with hardrace!
In the mean time I've been refurbing the front calipers, the seals/dust boots where in a state!

Fresh piston and seals and they are now back on and good to go!

I'm now making up all new brake lines all round the car, removing the rear lines was hard work but with alittle help from @Samuka88 i got the rear lines off yesterday.

I've made up the whole front end so today's job is clearing out the car(removing carpet and some more plastic) then running lines for the Tilton!

How the hell you manage to bend a lump of steel the size of the d2 arms??
Got a pic?

I'll get a pic when I'm in that arch, should be later today when in running a new brake line to that side.
It's bent right by the base of the bush closest to the chassis.

ah braided line an hardrace friend ah carfriend :nice::wtf::lol:

Those brake boots only tear when u dont push back the rubber lip with a screwdriver after pushing back the calliper. You probably knew thta but just incase cos i see it at work the whole time

Had another look at that arm, I don't think it's bent, must have been the angle I was looking at or something.

Got a fair bit done today. Stripped the carpet out then got to making the rear lines up.
Getting the front to rear line through the bulk head then around the pedals being sure they won't get caught on anything was tricky but I've got it.
Pretty pleased with the job I've done considering I've bent all the lines by hand.

I'm still in two minds about splitting the rear brakes like that. For a track only car I'd say it's fine but I'd be worried that if (and I know it's a big if) the brakes were to fail and there was an accident they'd try to pin in on you for not retaining the diagonal split of OEM setup.

Aye im pretty sure they arms would be hard to bend. Especially at the chassis end!

I did look into it briefly, there is a valve that allows you to retain the diagonal split but it's mega bucks.
Opted for the Tilton and just be vigilant with maintained checks etc.

So my flaring tool broke yesterday, with only 2 flares left!
Will be on the hunt for another tool later today.
P clips and rivets ordered and on the way.
