Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

Right not much going on really.
Using the injector duty % to calculate the HP (not sure how accurate this is?) The figures come out abit above 410hp @ 1bar.
This would be about right when comparing mine to @nicole_ as she runs the same turbo and makes 390 at 0.9bar on a 1.6L.
I've also noticed I'm creeping up on the limit of my injectors, 1bar boost I'm at 90% duty so that's probably ruled 1.4bar at full revs out until I can sort more fuel.

Spent another half hour with the car today. Aem sensor is definitely broken, the new kit reads 11.8 and the aem is reading flat 10s...
The datalog of the AFRs show a strange pattern that is practically impossible for an engine to create so somethings up.
Tested 1.4bar upto 7500 and it hits 98%duty on the injectors so I'm definitely out of Injector for more than 1 bar.
Started to try and bring the boost in earlier but without reliable afr/datalogs it's not really a great idea. Got 1 bar at around 4300rpm, I've not tried to use vtec to help spool it either yet so we'll see how that goes.

Sounding like a beast mate, bigger injectors on the cards then? Where I got my head from the guy had some 1000cc injectors for sale....
What are you running ATM?

I'm on ID725s atm. Tbh it's a convenient limit to hit really as it stops me over doing it because the setup just won't fuel much more.
How was your wedding?
I must get round to posting you those parts!

Wedding was fantastic! Everything went perfectly. Yeh no worries, when ever you get time to.

Ah right fair enough makes sense, you'll be saving for a sleeved block build next. I went for ID1000's, I thought better to have bigger ones not working as hard rather than maxing them out?

You're making me worry about how much power mine is going to make :nerv:

Yeah back when I first bought the 725s they where more than enough for my goals.
I'll go 1000s eventually but for now it's OK. I can't afford a sleeved build so I'll probably play lottery with my block.
Yeah the gtx turbos are pretty epic for their size! You can keep the pressure low and it's drivable, I'll be running 0.5bar on track until I get bored of that.

They are bloody impressive and I'm only on something like 6.5psi!

Are you still on stock fuel lines Jesse? They'll start to hold it back at around 400whp, so if planning on changing injectors, they'd be worth changing too.

Yes I'm on stock lines still.
With my turbo I may only just hit 400whp but I'll look into it just incase.

So, long time no updates.
Boost has been blowing the top of my carbon canister. Or its been popping for some reason, I blame boost lol

Had fueling issues with the hondata datalogging system. Lead me to believe I had a slight missfire that I couldn't feel.
After much searching about I find this as I pull the dizzy out.

Believe it or not but that wasn't the issue, the car ran (as far as I could tell) complete fine with its dizzy in that state lol

So after much messing about I decide to start logging engine parameters on my AFR meter instead, this has resulted in a much cleaner datalog that I can actually use.

Had a small play with a Ferrari 458 yesterday, completely even from 6k in 3rd to a good 140 in 5th, he then lifted and let me through.
Cars at brands on Wednesday evening for its first trackday on the new setup.

Good luck on the trackday dude, hope the new setup works!

The carbon canister, I just took the pipe off the inlet and tie wrapped it up in the bay and let it vent to atmosphere.

Yeah this is what I've done. Blocked off the ports in the manifold and left the rest hanging lol

I don't know if there's a one way valve in there, if not, in theory you're putting a bar of boost in the fuel tank lol.

It's blowing the lid clean off it anyway so it's got to be useless.
Just minor map checks to make sure it's not catching any det on the gear change left to do really.
It's been catching it, made some adjustments so hopefully that's fixed.

Hi,

just a quick question before I start read your whole thread; are tuning your enigne by yourself on the streets?

Great work dude! Reading through all your tuning efforts makes me really want to get mine running so I can have a play around too. Looking forward to hearing more :D

Hi,

Yes the cars completely road tuned so far. It's getting abit more difficult now the cars making more power. Also takes more time/fuel than on the dyno because of traffic etc.

I've been on track with it on low boost and it's pretty good tbf. Really pulls out of corners nice and strong compared to the old setup.
My brakes ruined the day really, sticky front caliper and the typical long pedal that I hate! Decided to go balls out and ordered a 310mm 2 piece disc wilwood setup from freakyparts. Opted for smaller pistons in the calipers, this should make the pedal a little shorter than stock. Think I'm going to struggle to get them under my wheels though lol
Fastest lap was a 57.5 but I didn't really go there for a laptime, I lost so much time on the brakes aswell so all in all

Playing catch up here. lol....lots has happened since I last reared my head in this place.

I wonder did he ask you that cos hes a shade  an hes wondering where ur drivin this thing hahaha jus be carefull

Great progress btw man very impressive inspiring even :))

Yeah I'm happy with progress. Although I accidently saved a stock file over my map when I was viewing the datalogs from brands.
I learnt abit from the datalogs though and I've got an older version of my map saved anyway so it's not like it's much work to put right again. Lesson learnt, keep a backup map lol

I'll be opening doors to members soon if all goes to plan so watch this space.
