Hello to everyone, im new here. And also a beginner of car tunner.
I just had JsRacing intake fit into my ek9.
And by reading all the threads i realise the short ram is not really good for b16b. So compare to cold air intake and short ram which one is more desirable? for cold air intake which brand is good to upgrade? tks.

hmmm, not necessarily true. you better search the Intake/Exhaust thread to find more info on what your after... theres more to it than that...

J's racing intake is good, also mugen, comptech etc, you have a great intake, but you will benefit more of a cold air intake, I think the mugen one drives more cold air to your motor, it is a good suggestion, it all depends of the climate of your country, in a rainy country there's a chance that water can enter your motor (little chance) but the chance exists.

You didn't go wrong buying this intake, it will help you, but if you can get one cold air intake it'll be better. In my case I will go for a mugen one.

Aem is a good option also, check out this car:

Keep your j's intake if you like it, but route some cold air to it. Its best to make an enclosure all the way around the filter, with a LARGE tube from that enclosure to the fenderwell (out of the engine bay heat) It has to be sealed to be able to pull only cold air from the tube.
At the very least make a box or block off structure between the filter and motor, and a tube from an outlet in the bumper that aims cold air at the filter.

i have a feeling one day im gonna freak out from all these intake questions, its just intake guys come on. very very simple science.

I don't think we have to spread the word on intake theory anymore on this site, we have to spread knowledge of the "search" button.

Whats the difference in performance between 4-1 & 4-2-1 headers? Is mugen header good for ek9? And also another intake question, which one is more desireable mugen or aem if price is not a in the consideration? tks

Price notwithstanding, the mugen is better than you're standare aem intake.

Headers are sooooo different, there is no clean cut difference between a 4-1 and a 4-2-1. However, the general idea is that a 4-1 is geared toward high end power, with 4-2-1 being better in the midrange and has more streetability.
But thats really thrown out the window by long tube, stepped and anti-reversion tubing 4-2-1 headers from hytech or other custom builders. These headers gererally work well in all the rpm ranges with no sacrifice for high rpm power.
