ok so i have this on my local car forum but not up here so its about time i did

started off i bought this car from a boy in cork around may 2008, john o conner if some know him, pretty solid car for standard so i bought it and had a good 4 hour journey back up to las vegas, in the hills of donegal

spec when i got it
64000 km
b16b stroked
s80 gearbox
uprated LSD
4.9 final drive
MUGEN ECU
fujitsubo cat back
fujitsubo decat
j's racing carbon fibre ram air induction kit
98 spec dc2 4-1
spoon socks
mugen radiator cap
standard suspension all round

one pic off the for sale ad

update 20th/july/2008

got a clifford g5 alarm fitted there a few days ago.got the remote start and tilt sensor as well so i can start the car on the cold irish mornings from my bed.lol.and the tilt sensor will make sure no-one will steal my whels/center caps

from living in donegal you often see aroud 20 1.4 ej civics floating around with type R stickers so decided to take mine off as they where really bugging me, its terrible that even real type R's arent allowed to have the badges as every knob in donegal has them on their 1.4, so got a few jdm stickers when they where cool to be different but took them off a few monthes later as every civic in letterkenny seemed to grow the exact same ones as me overnight, :ban:

got a bit of decent weather so took some pics with the new stickers on

*****update 6th/aug/2008*****

gave the car a full service as i had no idea when it was done last.changed the oil(castrol GTX 10W40),
oil filter (OE honda),
feul filter(OE honda
plugs (BKR6EIX-11 iridium)
and replaced the gearbox oil with land rover MTF94(mighty brew altogether)

also fitted MFactory magnetic sump plug with gearbox plug to catch any unwanted alien objects

purchased an OEM style carbon culture carbon bonnet.also got it lowered 40mm all round as the stock ride height was cramping my style. but as you can see it only really lowered the front of the car but it was only to tide mo over till i got a set of coils,

so got the car rolling roaded there at the weekend as my local tuning shop burnside auto organised the guys at west coast performance down in cork to bring up their portable dyno for a letterkenny shootout

managed to pull 174.8 bhp at the flywheel and 129ft-lb at the fly also.im not that dissapointed as i managed to beat two of my firends dc2 type R's who each got 168bhp and 172bhp so they where a good marker to compare results,

but all the figures on the day where a bit suspect as my mate has a DC5 who has proof of 257 at a dyno in AIautosport in northern ireland and he only managed 208 bhp on the same day as me on a dyno dynamics dyno, so dont post up a reply saying your siR was mapped in westward and made 190 bhp at the fly as ill gladly throw down the log book right now and take you out the road now bitch!!!!!! (rrfl:

some might call it a low reading dyno and some might call it a realistic dyno, you choose.

*****update september 08*****
heard about the drag racing that was going on up in enniskillen so decided to take her up to see what time she would run on the quarter mile,so me and a few friends including loaf, keep_da_toe_on_her and daveypower all took our cars up for the run hoping to get a space to compete which wee did

on practically bald toyo T1S tyres i managed to pull constantly low 14 second and also pulled three times on 13.99, 13.96 and my best of 13.95 all @ around 102-104mph so was happy enough with that as there where not many honda up there that where running low 14's and only me and another that broke into the 13 second range

unfortunetly no pictures or video's of this, plenty of everyone elses cars but as per usual not me

kept the head down again during the winter

*****2009 update*****

didnt do alot to the car other than regulars oil and oil filter changes every 5'000 km with the same as mentioned above

gave her a good underbody wash and waxoiled the underneath and in round the arches

kakimoto racing strut bar
picked myself up an APEXi power FC with commander which is yet to be mapped
picked up 5 hamp oil filters from kevtegra to keep me going for the next 25,000 km

*****september 2009 update*****

enniskillen 2009 came along and decided to go up and try to improve from last years time, although the weather wasnt behaving itself it rained all day so the R888's i put on a few weeks before where completely wasted for the day, also the lambda sensor was flicking the CEL light all day so it may have been keeping a few horsies away due to bad AFR

was running low 14's all day but couldnt break into the 13's no matter how i tried launching, best time i managed to get was 14.03 which for the condition and tyres i was ok with as i pretty much matched my time in the dry with my time this year in the wet

met a few dtd lads and it was a fun day all round and good to see some members cars

pics of me

P1120152.jpg

here is micko-ek9 in the dc2 against me:D
P1120129.jpg

also found a video of me racing a sierra cossie who seemed to have plenty of traction haha

YouTube - Straightliners Enniskillen '09

kinda pissed as that was my worst time of the day and i reeled him in quite a bit when i hit 3rd gear but not enough to pass him

also seen this a few weeks ago:(

takata green volk te37's 15''

ok so woke up this morning and walked down stairs and sitting in the porch was a big package FOR ME!!!!!!

abe3e79a.jpg

the wheels were very very well wrapped, must have cost the guy 100 pound on bubble wrap lol

upon opening the wheels i peered inside to the rays emblem behind the spokes:D

but then oohhhhh **** it said 5x100 fitment on the back fascia of the wheels, my throat went dry as a bone lads was nearly dry wretching with anxiety

its hard to get a good photo as i only have my iphone ATM

depending on the light conditions they can look different shades on the pictures as you will see

so here's the wheels

134f7f80.jpg

934b7c45.jpg

a17ef8c6.jpg

0224a9ea.jpg

also got a matching rocker cover in the deal but he has cut the cambelt cover off so not sure about putting it on

wasnt intending on putting this on but its actually a really good finish soo might slap it on and see what i think

701a6e95.jpg

954573ac.jpg

so ran straight outside thick as a bull expecting the wheels not to fit and tried the wheel on the car and fit like a glove, i was extremely relieved to say the least

offset look to be alot better so trixta will be happy for once lol

2 quick pictures

update yoooo

15th march 2010

recently bought an ORC 309 racing clutch of benzai

serious bit of kit and makes that gnarley chattering sound that real motorsport clutches make when the clutch is pressed in

comes with its own flywheel which i weighed at 5.1kg so a good bit heavier that my fidanza 3.3kg flywheel but i can honestly say that i feel abosloutely no difference in response but high end torque seems a little bit improved

i really am immensely impressed with the clutch, its not a real as*hole paddle clutch on/off jobby nor is it a big fat saft OE setup with 10 miles of slipping during gear changes

only way i can explain it is that it has the bite of a real heavy duty paddle clutch with almost the daily driving capabilites of a standard clutch

and for such a strong pressure plate the pedal is very comfortable and doesnt tire your leg out sitting in traffic but it alot harder than OE

heres the clutch

flywheel and clutch disc on and centered along with the replaceable friction plate that the pressure plate sits on top of

while i was at it i took out my aircon compressor and radiator and there is a nice little reduction in weight but no pics of this im afraid

so last night started cleaning the car for the drag racing today at around 7 o clock got her washed with the usual sauce (megs gold class car shampoo) and gave her a good detaring followed by a second wash with the aforementioned shampoo

then a friend of mine who is a sprayer brought down his orbital polisher and gave her a good cut with OE compound and topped off with ultimate glaze and a coat of wax that comes in a little tin like shoe polish and japanese writing all over it, wee call it jap wax lol

20th april 2010

rolled another 5000km to 105,000km there last wednesday so serviced her up ready for another 5000km

dont usually take pictures and all that crap because i usually have it done in 15 mins but have pictures now as i had my phone in my hand at the time of gathering everything together

changed the engine oil(castrol GTx 10w40), oil filter(HAMP), gearbox oil(landy MTF94) and feul filter(oe honda)

spark plugs where changed at 100,000km so there ok until 110,000km (NGK iridium)

also managed to scoop up a Mugen 4-1 manifold for handy money from ''g.mc.m'' on here from AWS tyres up here in the good old donegal.

ok so i cant get into my progress thread to update it with new pictures so ill post them here

i copy and pasted a liitle bit of my project thread to bring you up to speed

a J's Racing 60RS titanium cat back exhaust system bt:)

and holy shite the thing is light, its actually unbelievable, you could bolt the axle back and the B pipe together and easily hold it with one arm stretched out and not even strain to keep it up,

i know that the backbox design looks pretty wank to most and i admit that i dont think it looks the best either, but always wanted one and from being out for a spirited drive on one of those private roads i keep stumbling upon it sounds so full of WIN!!!!!!

tapping it with my finger on the way home you would think you could crush it like a coke can, makes the same sort of ping

the bends and welding are works of titanium art

here some pics of the system

Js-Racing60RS.jpg

Js-axleback.jpg

4251d265.jpg

here it is being modelled by loaf the big bender! lol
Js-Bpipe.jpg

so seeing as apparently i race with no shoes on i thought i had better weigh the exhaust just to see how much weight i shed from my modified pro racer A spec made by 5zigen

here is the weight of the J's axle back alone.

Js-axleBF.jpg

just a touch over 2kg

Js-B-pipe-1.jpg

here is the weight of the one piece J's B pipe.

Js-B-pipeF.jpg

bang on 2.5kg

Js-B-pipe.jpg

and here is the weight of just the 5zigen axle back alone.

5Zigen-axleBF.jpg

a little bit under 5kg, and yes thats just the 5Zigen backbox

5Zigen-axleB.jpg

and was just out there now and weighed the 5Zigen B pipe and it was a little over 10Kg!!!!!

so ive shed over 10kg off the weight of my exhaust alone

now for some fitted pics

its hard to get a good picture of the backbox or maybe it might be impossible

also got a friend of mine bernard from CBM signs here in letterkenny to make me up a J's racing waza sticker, got it made in gold vinyl so that its shiny bling bling in the daytime but almost black at night

anyway pics
