so I'll be swapping all my windows out in the new year.
I'm after reviews on manufactures Windows really.
Thermoformed the way to go or does it not really matter?
Im looking at the racers/trackdayers really as they'll have the experience I'm after.
@JohnTurbo @pdapaul @b16 mini @SPek9 @haitch

I use the plastic4performance front lexan window kit and although I have mine fixed they are an excellent fit and the clubman slider kit works very well

If you plan to have the Windows sliding up and down then it would be worth while getting the hard coating on the door Windows because lexan will mark easily

I plan to buy the rear screen next to save a bit more weight and I will be using them again

Plastic 4Performance are the daddies, but you pay for it. ACW did the windows on my ep3 and they were really good as well. Whichever you get defo get slider on at least the drivers as they are a godsend.
If it's a daily seriously consider the protected plastic as they scratch crazy easy!!!
P4P were the only guys I could find to do the rear screen, but it fits perfectly.

It was between acw and p4p but open to other options.
My cars not a daily although I'm partial to a road blip now and then :)

I'm I right in saying the ACW windows aren't thermoformed? I am wary of the fit with a flat sheet of lexan as I don't want water/wind getting in.
Going to be properly fixed with two lockable sliders.

My original plan was to apply a window tint to the rear 3 screens to act as a scratch protector.
Possibly get the hard coating on the front two if they mark that bad.

If you are keeping the Windows moving up and down then def go for the hard coating on them

My car would not pass MOT after I cut the inside of the doors out and fixed the front side Windows so at this stage I decided to take the car off the road so that I was not restricted to what I can do with the car and I use a trailer to transport the car to the track

Window tint usually goes on the inside of the Windows so I'm not sure if it would protect them in the way that you plan to

My fronts are fixed as I mentioned and they are not scratched after a year but you can't use normal polish or anything on them and you would need to be carefull when washing so that your not wiping dirt over the surface of them. P4P sell a care kit for the lexan but I haven't tried it myself

P4P also offer a bronze tint which I may go for when I get the rear screen next

I've got ACW's in the front doors of my mini, with sliders on both sides
bonded them in with a polyurethane bonding, were a pretty good fit, however mini glass is flat anyway so it's difficult to get it wrong.

I've seen other road cars with fixed windows, with just a slider, so it may not be a MOT issue here in the uk

I'll be having fixed Windows as I plan to remove most of the door gubbins.
I need someone who has used flat lexan on the front of an ek before really.
Seems p4p are the go to guys for this.

There is a kit on eBay that's £100 cheaper but of unknown quality

P4P is a proven quality product and imo if you buy cheap you get what you pay for most of the time

The Rally cars here in N.Ireland have fixed windows with slider kits for Rallying then for MOT they change doors to spares with normal sliding windows. MOT can be more fussy here in N.I. and they are not carried out by local garages but in an MOT centre with full time mot test staff

It wouldn't surprise me if the hard coating they offer was just a coat of adhesion promoter and a decent quality HS scratch proof laquer

So with regards to cleaning them, snow foam job or could I bucket and mitt them?
Would applying a wax to them help or just cloud the window we think?

Mine are P4P and unlike everyone else in the world mine are bonded and bolted in like the originals.

My window fitter does a lot of work on Funeral vehicles which have PC windows, so has a special primer that actually bonds to the PC.

The fronts are bolted in, but I had to make up tabs for the bottom to do this. They go up and down electrically, even with the slider. I still have a legit 100% MOT.

P4P or don't bother. I have seen flat sheet applied to Civic Cup cars. Looks shittttty.

^ this is what I needed to know.
I thought the flat sheet might look strange.
So p4p it is lol

I made my own windows for the new car im building 4 sides, front and rear screens. The lexan has a lot of give in it to bend to the shape you want. If it looks shitty its because it was fitted shitty. Mines are all bolted in

Haha literally it gets washed to go on track. It's bad really lol

I noticed the eBay ones but I'm not willing to take the risk on them being shittty aswell.
Do we think that grey tint could match the oem window roughly?

It's a fair bit lighter than the oem tint. I've got some in the workshop somewhere. If I can find it I'll get a picture up to show the difference

Any one tried templer? seem well priced on ebay

I can't quite remember who, but some one had dc2 front windows from templer and said the fitment wasn't great. The guy who made my rollcage also told me to stay clear of them having experience with them in the past.
