Hello

Can i put a LSD from a S9B (B18c4 1.8 vti-s) in the Gear Box of mine B16a2, the Gear Box is a S4C without LSD, if so what i need.

Regards

At minimum, you would also need to use the ring gear from the S9B before it would fit. However, gears are also best replaced in pairs, so I would change the pinion also.

And what about the compatibility of transmission parts between the s9b and the s4c? For exmple the final drive of the s9b would fit in the s4c??

I'm pretty sure that the ring gear and pinion gear together are what constitute the Final Drive.

correct.

it's a good idea to use the together as a set as MFactory suggests.

keep it for future reference.

Hmm, uses the longer GSR 1/2/3/4, but the shorter B16 5th and longer LS FD. Interesting :)

Old post I know but where it was once true that 4.4 or 4.8 FD boxes were affordable, this is decreasinglythe case.

This is duplicated from my build thread to a small degree, but basically its possible to make a VTI Y21/S4C 'better' with a S9B LSD (and final drive), or to make a S98 'better' with the 2nd/3rd/4th from an S4C/Y21.

I used
From S9B:-

Casing/Diff/Ring gear/Countershaft/forks/reverse

From Y21/S4C:-

Mainshaft, 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear.

First, reverse and 5th is the same in both and can be used from either.

You can see below; the performance is very close to an LSD S4C or 96 spec S80:-
(You can see below how stupidly short the 98 spec first gear is too!)
