Does anyone know if the VSS signal is used when mapping on a P28 or if it is ignored/deleted?

I am currently running a gearbox without the VSS and wondered if the signal is required or if the P28 has the ability to ignore it?

Thanks

Isn't the vss needed for vtec to work? I'm sure my buddy had issues with the converter on his vss and vtec wouldn't work.

On a standard ECU it does yes. I was wondering if it is still used on an aftermarket ECU as they can be deleted as a requirement on some.

I know on Hondata, which piggy backed the Factory ECU, the VSS had nothing to do with VTEC engagement. It was based only on the RPM's. This was on an OBD 1 P30 ECU.

i think there is much parameter for VTEC engagement. But yes you can disable the parameter.
-manifold pressure window
-rpm window
-mininum tps
-minimum speed
-minimum water temp.

As above. It's minimum speed with hondata, to disable just enter 0mph.
