Lovely car, the engine swap looks great. Glad you're enjoying it.

Apart from the pace, how does the car feel? The chassis able to manage the extra power and its delivery?

Thanks :) it feels great. No power steering now but the chassis can definitely handle the extra horses. It will spin up though, especially in the wet. Basically just have to be careful where you open it up, more so than before because it's that much quicker. That's about it really.

We need an onboard video!!

It's been a while!

Latest progress, I've had the car tuned by TDI North a couple of weeks back. Desperately need a 3" exhaust as the 2.5" is choking it top end.

Got it mapped on the hottest day of the year (typical) which wasn't the best for figures. Had a crap intake on it as my AEM one didn't fit the RBC inlet manifold. Now I have a Hybrid Racing CAI on which is much better.

Car made 220bhp & 150ftlbs with a crap intake & 2.5" exhaust on a boiling day. Need to get my 3" exhaust on and go back for a tweak; should see around 240bhp then. You can see on the graph how the power curve just dies at the high rpm. I made 10bhp just off the tune though which was good with a lot less fuel & 5 degrees less ignition.

Was at Trax at Silverstone on Sunday too. Did 2 track sessions as well as showing. GoPro didn't work on the first one, second one I recorded fine.

Throttle got stuck open towards the end because my throttle body came loose! Which created a huge vacuum leak but all sorted and loctited now! Great fun, considering its only my 3rd 20 mins on track in my life. Couple of missed gears as well but never mind :D

The blue Megane needs to learn track etiquette and not to move out of the way and keep his foot planted, the tube. Lol.

Well another update due I suppose...

Did a track day at Oulton Park on Tuesday, full day. What an epic day!! Highlighted things that I definitely need before doing another though.

The day didn't get off to a great start, 1 sighting lap in I lost all power and the engine kept cutting out. Turns out the TPS had eaten itself. Luckily had a spare one to go on.. Then managed around 50 laps or so over the day. As it stands it handles brilliantly and goes well in a straight line too but I need a little extra.

So I'm hopefully getting a set of track wheels this month & semi slicks, preferably @nicole_'s TE37's ;)

Also going tomorrow to have a sit in some fixed bucket seats, looking at Sparco Evo's in red with OMP 801 harnesses all FIA approved. Going to run a Tegiwa harness bar also.

So the car is getting stripped out and basically becoming a "daily track car" for now. But I have another project on the way hopefully which is a 1995 MR2 GT which I'm being given for nothing... So that could become my daily.

Thanks :D haha yep I'm doing it! About 6 videos going up on YouTube from the day :) just taking a while in 1080p... Haha.

What TPS were you using?

It was OEM Honda, as is the other I now have but I've bought a Hall effect one. Problem occurs in K-swaps because the vibrations from poly engine mounts destroy the connections inside the TPS. So need a hall one with magnets and no physical connections, won't break then :)

Touch wood my oem tps has been fine on my k20 swap...

it was out in the middle of no where on a stand tho haha.
 
You forgot to mention the oil leak at trax haha, definitely makes me think twice about selling my nine but then again the conversion cost you a fair bit and I like the new megane rs, can pick a trophy up for the same price of buying a nine then doing a high spec k swap.

Not so much of an oil leak, more my oil cap decided to fall off and spaffed oil all over the bay! :headsmash:

K20 EK9 would lash a Megane everywhere tbh lol and more fun to drive :D

Decided to go all track slag on my 9...

Bought a set of 15x7" Advan RG's with Federal RSR semi slicks on... Which @nicole_ is bringing to japfest for me woo!
