Mattyssb's black caged ITB'd K24 EK9

Got the freshly flocked dash in and mounted ready to mock up the switch panel, digital dash killswitches etc etc before I pull it back out to finish up all the wiring.

Surprising how much room the dash takes up after it's been out so long haha
After bolting the seat and pedal box in I'm thinking I'm going to moved the shifter back about an inch or 2
The position of my drivers seat and the coloum make the shifter's stock location very uncomfortable which isn't good.

Going for that BTCC driving position, haha!

Fire extinguisher mounted and plumbed in neatly now too :D

Moved the shifter back about 5 inches, which is quite abit.
Now it's in the perfect position and I can actually reach it :D

Looking great! Will the handbrake clear the shifter still or you moving that as well

Thanks man, from what I can work out so far (don't have a handbrake to fit) haha
It should clear pretty easily, if it doesn't I'll just move it to suit. Shifter is more important haha

I just installed my race spec box in the same axact position as you have it, and for some reason 1 of the cables is too stretch...
I have my cables routed through the hole where the heater core was and im thinking is too much of a turn with the box been that far back...

Where did you route your cables on firewall ?

Exactly the same as you mate, the one cable runs quite tight when it's routed through the heater hole. I'm unsure what I'm going to do about that yet, I managed to play around with the cable an gain enough to tighten it in place in the clamps buts it still quite a sharp Bend onto the gearbox

So far it hasn't affected changing gear to much, but as for the long run I can't see it working out to well.
I'll have another look at the situation when I go back down to work on the car

Well
My gears go in perfectly too but i notice that one cable was getting pinched on the metal and it was cutting the plastic insulation, so i took it off and thinking it was too short a measure it with a stock cable and they are exactly the same..
If i move the box at least 2" it will be fine
But i just didnt wanna drill other holes lol lol
I'll figure something out
The advantage that you have over me is that you already have the shifter plate...

Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

Went down to the garage today to get a few bits done

Also finished making the switch panel mount and fire extinguisher/cut off, block plate/mount.

Came out better than expected, really happy with it. Now to paint :D

Raised the switch panel an inch out of the recess, so I could actually reach them when harnesses up in the seat.

Next up is to mount the dash2 :)

I've just routed my cables through the heater hole, and tbh I don't like the stretching. Mine were previously routed through the smaller round hole to the right of it. I'll take a picture when I've re-routed them. The only reason I re-routed them was to use the ktuned grommet plate, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

That's where mine were originally. Did you have to elongate the hole to accommodate the rubber the cables go through?
