Mazda RX-8 1.3..

Hi, just been looking at these mazda RX-8 rotary engine thingys 1.3 litre and 235BHP :shocked: Amazing or not? anyone driven one.. how would it hold up to an EK9.. considering you can get an RX-8 1.3 for 9k same as an EK9.. :)
 
rx-8 sucks! in my country mazda actually gave the first few owners a $500 check because they overrated the powerplant so much and the car was so slow that many people were disapointed, about 170whp. if you want a mazda get the 93 and up rx-7 FD3S. its a lot faster, its turbocharged and its engine is much easier to fix up and it has a ton of after market support, lets not forget its dead sexy looks!!
 
nah.. the new RX-8 1.3 is supposed to be 235BHP 0-60 in 6.1 seconds.. no joke imlike okay.. thats impressive for a 1.3 :S
 
trust me its slow!! they only make about 170hp at the wheels. yes its a 1.3 but its not a piston engine, its a rotary engine. they have more power strokes per degree of crank rotation, thats how they make so much power in a small package, you cant really judge them by displacement. but yes they are some of the most potent engines in the world. why dont you just get an FD3S? there so much nicer and faster.
 
I dont want a Mazda lol :p im just comparing stuff to EK9's to see what ppl say lol :D
 
mazda sucks, except the 93 + FD3S RX7
 
Mazda RX-8 are for girls..... :lol: see the "fast and the furious Tokyo Drift" movie! its driven by a girl.. I like RX-7 FD3S much better :D
 
even thow are 235hp jdm we have here are 250 i think are very slow in drag racing for sure the ek9 is in front.
 
My favorite mazdas are the rx-7 (last gen. FD chassis I think) and the brand new mazdaspeed3 gt. Its a fwd turbo wagon/hatch and its very fast. Rx-8 :(
 
yea i drove my friends rx-8 and i really wasn't impressed i mean 238hp and it only runs a 15.4?(according to factory specs) plus i read they plauged with problems
