Was wondering What Motor Mounts you folks run and hows the Stiffness/Harshness of them? I'm kind of looking for something that's nice a Firm, but not Cabin Shaking/Rattling like Innovative Poly mounts or the such.

Did a quick search and all I came up with was Spoon mounts which IIRC only makes 3pc? I was looking at the Mugen set as it's not too much more for the full 5pc set.

:blinx:

Spoon is 5 pc too. J's, Spoon, Mugen are all very similar made by the same company as OEM mounts with a different hardness. I certainly dont rate them.

Get Innovative or Hasport. You've got a couple of different options for hardness, 60A is absolutely fine for the street. I run 85A and there can be a very very slight fuzz at idle but is fine when driving, no rattles or anything nasty like that. Awesome modification, you wont regret it.

Hmm they do come in 5pc, found a set for $373 USD. Plus I did more searching and found alot of reviews saying it was Stiffer than Std but not enough to Transfer big amounts of vibrations to the cabin. Think that's my choice I'm going with.

I'm using cusco mounts full set, not sure what hardness they are to be honest but they are bloody stiff!

Ive got some Hasport u62a street mounts on mine, think they are the softest ones they do but they are harder than stock. You can feel the car vibrate with these, i bet the race ones are harsh :nono:

I still say go for an aftermarket billet 3 mount setup. Most have life time warranty which is good. I've seen the Spoons look quite worn and tired after a bit if use.

The 60a innovative is absolutely fine for road driving.

Save alot of weight ditching those lower mounts and brackets.

I run 85a and it's completely fine on the road. Some fuzz at idle but certainly no rattles.

I'm using Hasport mounts the race ones, as said before idle is a tad bit rough but not noticeable at all. Feels sooo much better tho...

I have been looking at the Spoon or Mugen mounts myself. Currently have poly super hard race installed and has been in the car for over 8 years--yes I have lost all my hearing. lol

The noise is just to great and I am forced to open windows while driving to lower the vibration noise, its that loud inside the car.

Spoon mounts are what I am leaning towards. but it would be cool to own something from mugen...hummmm

I traded my stock ones with a bud who had 95a, his dash felt like it was about to fall apart.. I just drilled a couple of holes to make them softer an they feel really good now!

^Lol, I decided on the Spoon's cause I found them for MUCH cheaper than the Mugens.

bump... sorry for resurrecting this old thread but I can't seem to decide whether to get spoon mounts or Hasport. Have you guys tried the spoons like you said you were going to? The Hasport have great reviews and they look more attractive but I'll hate the vibration and my suspension would soon be spoon. #Street Only!!

:thanks:

Can someone plz PM sleeper status and ask him if he got the mounts? I'm new and can't PM, sorry ...

If you don't want vibrations in the cabin forget about the spoons IMO.

Mugen from nengun/rhd Japan is what I'd suggest.

On another note, I replaced my mounts with a mix OEM honda and japservice parts mounts, such a great improvement, driving the car makes me glad I didn't go for harsher mounts. Overkill for a street car. New OEM mounts are the way forward for a street/trackday car in my mind. No cabin vibration, very little wheel hop and a nice direct gear change which is what Honda intended.

Bare in mind we ran new spoons in a previous DC2 and new hardrace in a current DC2, spoons left dash vibrations, quite brutal at first and then died down a little, but still left dash vibrations. Hardrace are more harsh again than spoon.

I'm using innovative mounts, Anyone running just the 3 motor mounts minus the lower torque mounts? Heard mixed reviews

good info... at least the spoons wouldn't be as harsh as Hasports. I'm checking the mugens tho.. thanks

OEM + Tigerseal, cheap & the same as poly mounts. They just look a little 'ghetto'.
