My 1999 Championship White EK9

let me know where your leaks coming from mate, I have quiet a bad one that's recently started.. checked rear lights seals looked damp so got new genuine Honda ones, now they are dry.. yet every time I drive it when its raining more gets in.. like a lot! had rear plastics out and somehow it looks like its getting in from rear suspension mounts cant find anything on google about it.. might have to make some gaskets to sit on top of suspension before bolting it back up? driving me mad now lol
Mine was leaking where the seam sealer had cracked, where the boot sits when closed just above the lights.

Im pretty sure I have figured it out now, it was running onto suspension which had me confused.. seemed to be the seam sealer where then roof and quarter meet just behind the weather strip. temp fix seems to work (touch wood)

If the leak isn't from the rear lights seals, you can check the seals on the vents under the rear lights. If you can't change them, just use some sealant.

It’s been quiet on the EK9 front! It was due to go in for some body work in mid January but with lockdown it’s been delayed. It’ll be going straight into the body shop as soon as it can.

I’m starting to stockpile parts for the car small or large but my aim is to get the car in a position ready for at least one track day this year.. here’s to hoping it can happen!

Did you get the suspension sorted in the end with new bushings and tracking ?

Suspension hasn’t been sorted as of yet, I wanna get the body work done first and then I’ll be getting the car freshly undersealed so that problems don’t happen again

I'm the same. Had mine undersealed last year and now on to fixing the bodywork....again

Yeah I’m getting a lot all sorted, the car should be serious rust free and then will be undersealed properly so I won’t have any concerns about driving it

Small update. I've managed to get my hands on a Spoon Sports steering wheel at a somewhat reasonable price. I am a big Spoon Sports fan, I can't get enough of their parts. For those who don't know, the Spoon steering wheel is slightly smaller in diameter in comparison to the OEM steering wheel. I've matched mine with a HKB boss kit which was very easy to set up. I'm really happy with the Spoon wheel, it feels so nice in your hands and just transforms driving the car, especially as my OEM steering wheel was showing its age.

In addition to my Spoon wheel, I got another good deal on a Spoon Sports Duracon gear knob a while ago now. It seems that the Duracon gear knob does divide people's opinions on whether they like it or not. Personally, I think I prefer it to the OEM gear knob, it feels a bit nicer to use but it's definitely not a necessary upgrade.

Lastly, you might notice that I have an RX shift boot installed on the car now. Before you say it, I know, blasphemy! RX parts on a non-RX car. It's given the interior that something extra to refresh it and the red stitching really compliments the car.

As always, some photos to match the update and here's to hoping many more Spoon Sports parts onto the car soon.

I think I pulled 350mm from an old forum on here, they must’ve been telling lies! Thanks mate

Don’t believe everything you read mate, proofs in the pudding not the reading

It’s looking a much nicer place to be in that cabin of yours though

Very true! Thank you mate, I’m looking forward to putting my stereo blank in and tidying up the centre a bit more. Just finding the time!

For the earth for your horn with the HKB Boss, where did you do it? I just fitted one to mine and ended up using the steering wheel bolts, but it seems a bit sketchy.

I think there was a wire running off the horn and we plugged it into the OEM earth point and it was all good!

Managed to take advantage of the long bank holiday weekend a while ago and go for a blast around the local B roads. It was only at the end of the weekend that I decided it might be a good idea to take advantage of the photo opportunities. Every time I take a look at this car it just reminds me how timeless of a design this car is.
