My 2000 Sunlight Yellow EK9

Yeah they will go heaps and heaps lower mate, I had the tyre tucked when I first put them on but I wanted to raise it a good amount
Sweet just wondered if they had that option if wanted. Sounds good mate

Little update, I had my arches rolled by arch enemy.
Because the arches had been replaced previously before my ownership, the spot welds were thick on the arch lip, this strengthened the lip and made it near on impossible to roll

Also to blend in the new panel they used filler, this obviously cracked during the roll.

The result was a right mess of my rear arches where they tried to bang the lip in with a mallet

I was broken when I saw the condition of the arches, I wasted no time in covering the bare metal in zinc primer and stonechip

I then booked it into a bodyshop I’ve used for years with my VWs. They saw the car and said they could fold the lip in nice with a tool they have, then paint after. I requested the whole rear quarters to be painted because of some sand marks beneath the paint I was not happy with

The arches are very good and considering the state they were I am very shocked they managed to get it looking standard again.

The bad news is, the paint is a shade darker on the quarter panels. This is quite noticeable (more so because I know about it). So the car needs to find a good body shop which will be able to sort this

This last post is a request from myself to all the members. Can you please advise me of a good body shop in Surrey area?

I am specifically looking for a body shop which uses the scan tool to get a perfect match for paint, I don’t want to rely on somebody’s eyes looking at a card they’ve sprayed

many thanks

Haven’t updated this in a while, for those who don’t know the B16B came out

Doing the done thing and K swapping it. Should be running soon and will post pics and specs

Still working out what kind of intake I want on permanently. At the moment it’s a 45 degree 3 inch and waiting on a HKS filter but may change for a 90 degree and different filter if I don’t like the look

Need to book in for a custom centre pipe which can mate the 2.5 inch header to the spoon N1. I’ve already got a magnaflow 200 cell cat waiting in the box

Biggest shout out goes to 10kperformance who you can find on Instagram.

They say the last 10% is the hardest, I’m not a computer guy and I’m not up to much with wiring diagrams. The guys came out to me and wired up the ECU with conversion harness, cooling fan and temperature sensor as well then uploaded a base map via Kpro on my driveway

They also bled the clutch and we went through checks to make sure the car was good. Next thing you know I’m test driving the car round the block.

Here is a little video of the second test drive to show the misses how good it sounds

Ive been driving around a little, testing it out and bolt checking. All seems fantastic and it almost feels like double quick compared to the B16B.

so custom centre pipe to come and a remap. Hopefully make north of 220 with a CAT and 2.5 inch exhaust. Not that it matters as long as it’s fun to drive.

Also definitely going to be doing a power steering kit. I want the car to feel almost stock for harshness etc and that’s the only let down right now

Not too much has happened, I’ve done a bit of tidy up.

stuck on the yellow cover from spooner restorations. This is the sour part, the paint is terrible to be honest. It’s so soft that the breather pushed the paint back like a blanket when it was slid on, the coil cover also dented the paint and it wasn’t even tight at all. If you lean on the cover too much it will mark the paint.( The paint had months to cure before I used it) I don’t endorse companies who do poor work. I have no doubts they would try to make it right if I contacted them but if I’m brutally honest I wouldn’t waste my time. They’ve been doing it years and can’t even get the paint correct. And on top of that the blokes attitude is rubbish

aside from that it I added a the spoon goodies to the engine bay, did a bolt check on the entire car and cleaned up a bit. It now just waits for an exhaust and a tune which fingers crossed will be very very soon. There’s been a few setbacks to get a booking and I’ve been dying to drive it
