Think it’s about time I made one of these threads.

I bought my pride & joy just under a year ago and have loved every minute of owning her. It’s completely standard apart from the back box and its going to stay that way.

Seeing that the weather was good today I decided to take some pictures of her. I can’t take a decent picture to save my life but here goes.

And so started the work on her. The first thing was to under seal her before I started driving her on our lovely salty roads. My write up can be found here.

After that I did a full service, coolant flush, timing belt kit & water pump, using Honda parts where applicable.

So once I was driving her I found out there was a knocking noise coming from the back, diagnosed it as rear drop links. So seeing as I was there I thought I may as well do RTA bushes because they weren’t looking to good & rear top mounts & bushes for the sake of it.

One RTA bush flew in, the other not so. Pretty much spent an hour trying to persuade it into RTA but after lot of shouting, swearing and a brew it was done.

So once that was done, I wanted to get a pair of new Honda badges as the ones on there were pink and had seen better days.

The set up lol

As time went by my funds grew slowly, It was time to do another oil change. On an earlier inspection I noticed my sump gasket was leaking out a small amount of oil. So on the phone to Honda for a sump gasket along with some Fuchs Titan oil and a Hamp oil filter.

But when I went to remove the sump, I noticed 4 bolts were finger loose and this was where the oil was leaking past the gasket. I don’t have any pictures to show of it but it might be worth while having a quick check the next time your under your car.

More time passed and a new knock had developed, so another inspection revealed the front drop links had gone this time. So another call to my friendly Honda dealership to order two front drop links.

Another cosmetic touch this time. I tried to clean my strut bar and rocker cover because I got oil on them and well its save to say I made a mess of it, so I decided to practice & respray the strut bar with VHT red wrinkle paint..........bad idea. Again I made a mess of it so ordered a brand new OEM strut bar from the states.

Here’s a picture of my failed attempt (top) against the proper red wrinkle (bottom)

A picture of it on the car, the white marks around the spark plug cover was my doing. Just need a new rocker cover for it to match now.

That’s all for now. Ill keep you all updated as it goes on.

Thanks for reading :)

Looks mega clean!

if you don't mind me asking, how much did the new OEM strut brace cost from the states?

Thanks :)

From ordering it, to it being on my door step, just over £150, that's including delivery and export tax. Took just over 2 weeks to arrive which I thought was pretty good.

love it! absolute minter in both these pictures and in the flesh! beautiful example :nice:

It is a lot for a standard strut bar but I'm keeping the OEM look of it :D
