I have owned my civic for about a year and a half now and so I should really start a build thread on here. After having a 106 for my first year and two of my closest mates had hondas I knew what I was going to get next. I was really fussy about what I was going to get, I originally wanted an EM1 but the insurance was ridiculous, so I decided I was going to get an EK, I was looking for either a yellow or a blue one, found a few but they always turned out to be sold or a waste of time, after 2 months of searching with a friend, I came across what I thought to be the car I wanted but this too got sold before I had a chance of going to look. Two weeks later I was about to give up when I saw an EK I wanted and decided to go look at it. My mate and I decided to get up really early, have breakfast at McDonalds and ring the seller, we then drove the 87 mile trip in my mates MB6, down to Huddersfeld to look at this car, I ended up paying the deposit and returning the next day to pay the man and relieve him of one civic. After dropping it at a garage to store for two months I went home and after seeing the advert to the car I wanted two weeks earlier, found out it was the same car, buzzing! Found out a few weeks after insuring her she was infact in limited edition Dark Amethyst Pearl, loved the colour!

Lowered aparently 60 mm on springs, unkown make
Sat on some 16" Wolfrace Asia-Tec alloys
Unknown make backbox
Unknown make manifold and decat
Chavtastic, I think ebay chip instead of intake temperature sensor
6x9's in the front door
Purple rear tints

I then set about with some parts that I liked

Less from me and more from my civic...

The only picture from the advert:

She has changed a fair bit from the day I got her, I am just in the process of finding and sorting all of the pictures I have with the work being done and a few shoots, I will upload as I find them
C&C welcome

Been a while since i updated,i completely forgot about my build thread :/

I decided that whoever put 6x9's in my doors was an idiot and i was going to rewire them to the back, so i needed new doorcards, luckily NeilVtec was breaking his EK4 so i got a deal on his doorcards and rear interior plastics, i also managed to source a set of recaros so i planned my trip to get my new seats and interior and after the 500 mile trip i was finally home with my new pieces.

My new parts:

I then had to source either some DC2 or EK9 rails, i then managed to get some seat rails of J700CK off of EK9.org, when they arrived a friend helped me modify them to fit the seats and bolted them into the civic.

New doorcards and rear plastics needed to be put in so a rewiring sesh was to be done:

Decided the cam cover had seen brighter days, i contacted Mark on Hondanortheast (my local honda community) about getting a powdercoat, after a few discussions and ideas, i met up with him to give him my camcover for him to work some of his magic.

Here is the picture he sent me after completing it in two days! :

Here are two pictures of it fitted:

Taking advantage of the group buy HID kit from General on here, the kit arrived and was fitted yesterday. Here is the outcome.

Head ache?? Neck ache i cant do much about, the pics rotate themselves even after i rotate them properly....
As dan K knows my car is going into the bodyshop next week to get sorted ;)

Build started properly this year like, last year i did exhaust and few daft little things, this year hopefully get a few things done like coilys, wheels, bit more power ;)

Nice build this, most go for styling mods first, good to see you getting your hands dirty and doing the ground work first :nice:

Best of luck with it :D

Ye keep me updated on the bodyshop bud when you goin etc

Ye bud might be able to get you some discount ;)

Not promising out though jus give me a shout :)

I'm waiting for rear bumper but i will be away sunday to about wednesday so not sure when i am dropping it off but i think i will strip it for him :)
You want me to text you?

Ye drop me a text mate n ill go to ma mams n meet you there

Nearly 8 years later, I have found my login details and more importantly still have the car.
Updates to follow......

Following on from where the build dropped off all those years ago, the car was also put into the bodyshop to freshen her up, as well as the new front bumper I managed to get ahold of a Jordan rear bumper and lip and a genuine type R grill.

The car went in and I got the door mirrors, door handles, sidestrips and skirts colour matched, I got the wiper removed and welded up and decided to get rid of the 'H' badge but kept the recess. After a bit of talking the aerial was also removed and welded up, I was in two minds about doing this but I went for it and I have to say I think it looks better!

I know not everyone will like the green wheels, must say they are one of those things that you need to see in the flesh to really make a decision lol!

Oh and yes she now also has genuine EK9 headlights
