My civic, Kasumi

Yh that green is interesting :p get her a bit lower and a lip :D nice to see you still have it though!

Then in October/November 2011 i wanted new wheels, i nearly bought a set of 9J rear and 8J front wide bbs rs' but then bottled it as too many civics seem to be running with bbs' i then came across a set of Intra alloys 15" 4x100, 7J wide and took the risk and bought them.

I spent a full day going down to collect them and go home again. 2 days later i got round to test fitting them.

attachThumb343281

attachThumb343282

attachThumb343283

They had slight curbing so I am currently hand refurbing them, just hand polishing.

Then at the start of 2012 i bought a few more parts, these will be added later but here are a few clue pictures to see if anyone wants to guess?
attachThumb343284

attachThumb343285

attachThumb343286

Heres a teaser of the bumper then, its not one of my pics just one I got off the internet as my bumper is actually in storage

attachThumb343287

attachThumb343288

attachThumb343289

attachThumb343290

Had a few minor updates. After making my drivers side window mechanism work after a few months of being broke, it broke again, luckily this time I got a replacement, apparently off a passengers side, I was going to try and swap the motors but I have a feeling that it was a drivers side one.

attachThumb343303

Also placed an order with Stew

attachThumb343304

attachThumb343305

Always thought the weighted bit was untrue but it genuinely makes shifting a tad easier for getting in gear especially at faster paces.

If you want to see an airwalker with an intercooler

attachThumb343306

I had done bits and bobs to the alloys, race on now to see if they will actually be ready for Mimms :O

As they aren't actual split rims, the 'bolts' are plastic so got them out first

attachThumb343307

attachThumb343308

There was a big gaping hole in airwalker as they don't come with a mesh, I was really unsure about meshing it up but it actually turned out very nicely

attachThumb343309

I was sick of the green wheels for ages, the brake dust and lack of cleaning them and the winter absolutely destryed them and instead of repainting them and shotting new tyres on and wanting to uprate the front callipers to 282's i knew they wouldnt fit over so new wheels would need to be bought

You may remember that i bought a new set of wheels back in October, yup still not refurbed but a big priority over summer, i ended up with a set of fanblades for £60 local to me so it would have been rude not too....

attachThumb343310

Going to uni on a weekend to finish off work and saw a random teg, if its anyone off here, it was at Teesside University and the Ibiza is my mates

attachThumb343311

Last weekend went to a car show to raise money for the North Airm Ambulance, i go every year but only went for about an hour this year as a family bbq was on the cards too, here are two photos that were taken of her

attachThumb343312

attachThumb343313

I set off to work one one of the Intra's

attachThumb343314

attachThumb343317

attachThumb343318

My favourite picture

attachThumb343319

Still got to finish off but not too far off now, another three to go though
:Frown:

I had bought some Neo Chrom Muteki wheel nuts off of Emperor Performance but they sent me the incorrect thread size, fortunately they were very nice and straight away asked me to send off the ones i received and they would change them, I received the other set a few days after sending them off for exchange, couldn't recommend them more!

Also been fitting my superlow seat rails on my Evo 6 seats, my god they are low but comfy! Whilst fitting these I fitted my blue 6 point TRS harnesses

Had to drive home with one seat the other night

attachThumb343320

attachThumb343321

Superlows fitted

attachThumb343322

attachThumb343323

This shows the gap between the bottom of the seat and the beam that comes across the floor where the front of the rails bolt on to

attachThumb343324

Unfortunately there were not any comparison shots but I can tell you with these my shoulder is about level, maybe a little bit higher than the doorcard and I used to have my steering wheel all the way up and now it's all the way down

Then got another few packages

attachThumb343325

attachThumb343326

Fitted

attachThumb343327

The other package won't be to everyone's taste but I always wanted a set

attachThumb343328

After a clean

attachThumb343329

Just for comparison

attachThumb343330

A bit of rewiring and....

attachThumb343331

Me and a mate painted our callipers, I fancied a bronzy/coppery but in the end we got 'smooth gold' Hammerite.

Spoon duckbill got tilted to see what it would look like and loved it, also test fitted the wheels as they stood with the gold callipers and neo chrome wheel nuts.

February 2012 time I decided to do the minime swap after having the bits sat there nearly a year, so spent a weekend doing most of the work and the next weekend finishing her off.

Unfortunately she never ran right and around 7 months after the swap I came to the conclusion that it was gradually loosing power, I suspected a lack of compression and couldn't work out why, then on the motorway with my mates ATR and my mates coupe I just lost power and she cut out, under inspection, the head had lifted
:Frown:

From that fatal night, my mates coupe had to tow me, luckily we were literally a 5 minute walk from my house

attachThumb343341

attachThumb343342

attachThumb343343

attachThumb343344

attachThumb343345

attachThumb343346

attachThumb343347

attachThumb343348

She sat on my drive for two days, the radiator and a few other odds and sodds were removed

attachThumb343349

Then put her on a trailer to put her in storage for removing the minime

attachThumb343350

attachThumb343351

attachThumb343352

attachThumb343353

Then removing her from the trailer to start stripping her down

attachThumb343356

attachThumb343357

attachThumb343358

attachThumb343359

attachThumb343360

Head off, can you see the problem?

attachThumb343361

attachThumb343362

attachThumb343363

attachThumb343364

Whilst removing the engine the ploice decided to see what we were up to, probably thought we were up to no good

attachThumb343365

Engine out

attachThumb343366

attachThumb343367

attachThumb343368

attachThumb343369

attachThumb343372

attachThumb343373

Was looking for engines, offered one or two and came across someone with a engine still in the car, so 20 minute drive and there we were in front of a car that hadn't been started in three months, the engine was stone cold.

Swapped the battery and she fired straight up!

Pumped the two flat front tyres, well one of them stayed inflated, let the engine get up to temperature and tried her out, she didn't half pull so I had to have her, so here is the outcome of the donor vehicle

attachThumb343375

Got the engine delivered to my house, yeah I know, doesn't look too great but don't let the looks fool you it is the outcome of sitting around and lack of love for months at one house and years at another

attachThumb343377

Decided to clean it up using gunk engine degreaser, looked really nice and then decided to go further as the engine was out of the car and to paint it, not to everybody's taste but thought it would make it look a lot better.

Used black heat resistant paint for the engine, anthracite heat resistant paint on the cam cover and ford velvet purple for the plug cover and a few other bits

attachThumb343378

attachThumb343379

attachThumb343380

attachThumb343381

attachThumb343382

I had bought some grey zinc rust primer as well so painted the gear linkage, later on finding out del sol ones are too long :/

attachThumb343383

attachThumb343384

Some engine swap food and what to do when they get chilly

attachThumb343385

attachThumb343386

Put all the gear in the boot of the daily to take to the shell

attachThumb343387

attachThumb343388

Put innovit solid mounts in and found the rear bracket was too long

attachThumb343389

Got the engine in and trailored it back to the house

attachThumb343390

attachThumb343391

attachThumb343392

attachThumb343393

Front bumper back on

attachThumb343400

Had some of that purple paint left so keyed up and painted my brake stopper and fitted it

attachThumb343401

Having to move the car ...again

attachThumb343402

attachThumb343403

I know had a new gear linkage that fitted but I had to remove the bitch pin, so up she went, some of you may know I really struggled with this one, a total of four days it took
:Frown:
during this time I took the fuel rail off and polished it up, sad I know...

attachThumb343404

attachThumb343405

attachThumb343406

attachThumb343407

Fuel rail off, after some cleaning

attachThumb343408

Fuel rail after a bit of polishing

attachThumb343409

Fuel rail finished

attachThumb343411

So it's been a while since I updated, I got the hubs all switched over, to now find the drivers bearing is foobard
:Frown:

Took her out a few times and she doesn't half pull but I thought to myself while I can I would put her in a unit, strip her down, clean her up and put her back together and I may tuck the bay slightly so today she went with one of her ATR friends in the unit and in 2 1/2 hours we took the bumper, wings, lights, bonnet and side skirts off of both cars and I zinc primered behind the wings

attachThumb343412

Before zinc primer

attachThumb343414

After

attachThumb343415

Shelf of parts off the civic

attachThumb343416

End of the days work

attachThumb343417

attachThumb343418

attachThumb343419

Need to:
  • change the drivers front bearing now
  • refurb the fanblades
  • move the rest of my spares in
  • find out why my drivers side carpet is wet
  • vax the interior
  • clean up the engine bay drastically
Hopefully get some more done tomorrow

Im rubbish at updating this, been really busy with family and uni so done as much work on her in the time I could. I did get her ready to go to Mimms but my mate couldnt go and as we always go I decided not to go without him (....insert gay joke here)

After zinc priming behind the wings my mate Taylor helped me out, ground down the bubbling areas, cleaned it all, re-zinc primered it and finally painted all anthracite

attachThumb343425

attachThumb343426

attachThumb343429

attachThumb343430

Looks like it has come out of the factory...

attachThumb343431

attachThumb343432

attachThumb343433

Whilst prepping and painting all of the front end, I had been working on the headlight loom, to tuck it as I always hated seeing the wiring near the strut towers, it looked messy so I ordered lots of braid and spent hours braiding the full headlight loom and extending what I needed

Before any modifications...

attachThumb343434

Nearly done...

attachThumb343435

attachThumb343436

Just before reinstalling it...

attachThumb343437

Some pictures whilst doing the tuck, some as reference points (yes the paint in the bay near the battery has gone, I am planning on painting it in the future)

attachThumb343438

attachThumb343439

attachThumb343440

attachThumb343441

attachThumb343442

attachThumb343443

attachThumb343444

Was taking the dash and carpet out, to replace with a black one, then got let down
:Frown:

attachThumb343445

attachThumb343446

Also not sure what its proper name is but one of the bolts that comes out of the head, goes through the cam cover and the plug cover was snapped so off I went to Honda for a new one, expecting it to cost around £20, turn out was around £5 so happy days

New one and one I took out to compare to at the dealership...

attachThumb343447

Will update soon with bits I bought and fitted, at the minute she has decided to stop starting so working on fixing that :/

Small update

Fanblades could do with a refurb so started doing them, done two atm

High build primer (looks dead nice in that pic)

attachThumb343448

painted and lacquered

attachThumb343449

Also this came up dirt cheap, it was purely impulse which has now earned me the rank of kevlar whore

attachThumb343450

Fitted (cam cover is getting re-refurbed)

attachThumb343451

Few more updates to come...

Spent ages trying to source a prefacelift passenger wing, weeks in fact until I got...

attachThumb343452

Cleaning the Heater Matrix

attachThumb343461

attachThumb343462

The dash atm, bcozracecar!

attachThumb343463

We know this was put in by a previous owner for sound deadening but not 100% on what is actually is! Anyway, 3 years down the line about time it came out...

attachThumb343464

Oh and for people who want to have a guess, this arrived today, hopefully be fitted very soon

attachThumb343465

In light that I will be getting a new dash

attachThumb343466

Then this arrived yesterday

attachThumb343467

Decided to clean it as it was minging, would start rainging at the point of no return!!

attachThumb343468

attachThumb343469

Then as my mate baber is breaking his MB6 and he lives 5 minutes away I picked up these this morning

attachThumb343470

When the carpet arrived the mat bit that goes under the drivers heels had come off so I stuck it back on and used three ecu's as weights

attachThumb343471

attachThumb343472

attachThumb343473

attachThumb343474

With the help of my friend, cleaned the recaros, some pics of them drying and cleaned the interior trim

One clean, one not clean

attachThumb343475

attachThumb343476

Again, one clean, one not clean

attachThumb343477

Ghetto drying method

attachThumb343478

Also fitted my poly bushes on the shifter and figured out why the shifter was so sloppy

The one on the left is the bolt that went through the linkage and shifter, not enough thread so it could not tighten on enough also it had severely worn away, didnt have any bolts long enough so used my spare shifter bolt that I had used before and it works a treat, didn't get any pics of this, was under a car, quitte a tight fit then pizza arrived just when I was finishing off

Yesterday decided that even though she had only covered around 1000 miles from the last service I would give her another one and fit a Blox magnetic drain plug I bought from H-tune a while back

attachThumb343493

Not exactly low but still had to drive on some wood to get the jack under...

attachThumb343494

Old vs. New Drain plug

attachThumb343495

attachThumb343496

Again Old vs New filter

attachThumb343497

More to come soon

attachThumb343492

So doing some research and talking to Chris from Whiteford Davies Motorsport we think we found the problem with my odometer not working, might be a chip so hopefully sort that out when the car comes off the road for the winter.

A while back I made a small purchase from Cesare which arrived for me to find when I came home from Uni

attachThumb343498

attachThumb343499

Fitted

attachThumb343500
