I finally got around to uploading a vid that I have from last August at Kirkistown, the car had the standard B18c and I was using semi-slicks so I would have improved my best lap time of 1.06 with full slicks by a couple of seconds but I havent invested in slicks yet

The car was averaging 1.07's with me driving at the end of last year and since then I have fitted a k20 with bolt-ons mapped by @Vtec6000 so I will get another lap timed video to compare the difference from going from a B18c to k20

Cool video. How did you get the lap/time/G onto the video? Think you should try different angle with camera.

That video was with my iphone using the Harry's lap timer app and I use a satnav suction mount to attach it to the passenger window

I was thinking of trying the rear side window to see if its any better

Nice video and good lap, never heard of the Laptimer app, looks very cool tho, which version of the app did you use? I see they do three versions varying in cost,

It seems to work very well and uses GPS for the lap times which should be very accurate

My version is v 18.3.9. Petrolhead edition is says

Awesome! Sounds so good going through the gears Stephen, I'm gonna predict the K20 with the same tyre setup will bring you in the 1:04 range :p.

1.04 would be a serious time mate, I'm not sure if the k20 will make that much difference but if it did I would be more than happy

For a comparison my b16a civic was only on average 2 seconds slower than the B18c Integra which has an extra 30-40 bhp

Only one way to find out and really looking forward to seeing how the k20 goes, can't get a good run in it on the road and the car is a too stiff for back roads

When are you hitting Kirkistown again? ?

Very impressive. Looking forward to see some in-car footage of the new setup out on track :nice:

Yeh your right, I am thinking along the lines of the ITCC lap times though! Also, Kirkistown is one of those tracks that requires power, And every little helps! I don't honestly know when I'll be back man, Bringing the DC2 back to the mainland next month. Hopefully get down to Cadwell at least. You should get over to the mainland sometime, Even Knockhill or Croft ain't 'too' far from Cairnryan.

Nice videos, just had a look at that app, looks pretty cool, can be used with wi fi compatible go pro's as well apparently,

Is your car nearly finished now? look forward to seeing some more updates on it

That would be good as you say if it can be used with Go-Pro, I will have to invest in a Go-Pro some day but I always seem to have car parts to buy or things to do around the house each month

Yes the car is ready for the track this month but there will always be areas that I will like to improve on

Also stock gearbox, seems going better in 4th and 5th gear

It had an Mfactory 3rd, 4th, 5th gearset not a super short gearset but enough to make a difference, all of the bottom section of the track I use 3rd gear through the corners and I was near the end of 5th gear on both straights

I had the car on track today for the 1st time since fitting and mapping of the K20 conversion, the car is a lot quicker and I'm clocking on average 10kph extra at the end of the main straight and approx 4-5kph more on the bottom sections when comparing the video GPS speeds.

I managed a new record for myself and got into the 1.05's today , same tyres and setup as the b18 lap times so I'm more than happy after all the work to have made a good improvement! A race guy told me that they worked out that you need roughly 40bhp extra to only gain a second around Kirkistown
The car feels a lot different to drive now and there is definitely more to gain with tyres and handling adjustments, I had a very lively back end today especially on the brakes and initial turn in... mainly because I have a Dunlop 225 wide tyre on the front and a pair of worn out 195 Yokohama's on the rear which really effected the balance.
Anyway, here is a clip of my best timed lap today... not the best quality but should give a good idea

Looks like your getting used to the new setup pretty quick. Great driving :nice:

The car felt great Aonghus and because it's quicker It will take a bit more practice to be able to push a bit more, I was tending to brake sooner because of the extra speed and taking the fast left hand turn at half throttle until I get the tyres sorted

It was 100% worth doing the k20 conversion :nice:
