Great lookin job, well done :nice:.

I was thinking of buying one of those for my car, are they worth it tho and do they make much of a difference??

Is the can vented? Also have you removed the PCV valve?

Going to be setting up my breather the same, blocking the IM and intake pipe

Also I would try and run the hoses straight to the connections and secure them a bit better with small jubilee clips :)

yes they are vented, that is the cap of the shaker on top, i forgot to remove it,

i havent removed the PCV, in this picture the black hose is the original hose coming from the PCV to the TB$cccc.jpg

i know my hose's and connections are a bit messy, i was just to excited to attach it..hehe

Good stuff!!!

I'm going to run it without the PCV seeing as it's mostly a track car now, see how i get on

what's the purpose of the PCV and what would be different if you remove it?

That's a catchcan in the Japanese sense, i prefer a positive crankcase ventilation setup that vents from the back of the block or a tapped valvecover to a vented can.

- oh men..does this mean i've done a bad thing? can you pls elaborate blinx?..thanks

bit of a thread revival(sorry), im thinking of doing this set up on mine basically the same that has been done above, just want to make sure that this is a ok/safe way to do it??

thanks in advance

Yep its fine and mine has proven to work as it's collected a considerable amount of oily liquid crap, considering I expected it to be more of a myth lol. Just remember you need a vented can to relieve pressure, I drilled a hole in my cusco can.

I have done a similar setup here's mine.

Although I also blocked coolant from flowing through the TB which unnecessarily heats it up thus heating up up the air going through it.

thanks for the reply mate,

ive seen catch cans on ebay etc with a small filter on top, would that be classed as a vented can? also what size pipe etc did you use?

and finally just to be clear, is it just a matter of taking a line off from the rocker cover then one off from the PCV valve then block the bit on the tb and thats it?

much appreciated

Yehh, Filter on top means it's vented :nice:

And piping I used 10mm bore with jubilee clips to secure, and bought those little plugs to block the IM pipe.

And yep, thats exactly right.

brilliant mate thanks very much, tbh i havent even looked at my B18c4 inlet manifold yet lol but im sure the PCV pipe etc will be pretty clear, any chance you have any other pics showing what pipes you blocked off for the coolnt etc? sounds like a good thing to do :)

cheers bud
