Pressure from B18C'R EK has forced me to put my build thread on here, lol.
Mostly copy and pasted from CivicLife.

01 July 2013

Bought car about 3 years ago now.
2nd owners.
It was on near 42k miles when we bought it, currently on 52k
Totally standard and I don't think the previous owner had ever engaged vtec...

Here's the pics from the advert of the car.

As I own a EK9 the plan was to leave this car alone and standard.
But as I suppose most of you know, that's impossible.

Lowered it a tad by putting my standard EK9 suspension on it.
This drastically improved handling.

Still sits high but handling is so good.

Then decided the car needed an SIR grill.
Bought one and sprayed it up myself.

AA198C7A-DE0D-4CAA-8A29-715595E0B6E3-13603-00000DF3DF92406C.jpg

Can't remember if I bought these before the grill or after.
Got a set of red and clear OEM rear lenses for the lights.
So much better over the orange and red.

78233B5E-0225-4DC0-B49F-9939426A699C-13603-00000DF43455CEE5.jpg

Then had the JDM rear light conversion done.

85FD224C-1E03-4EE0-BD60-80CE5C76E1A1-13603-00000DF4735249D0.jpg

I had a Mugen rep lip kicking around that I was gonna use on my EK9 but decided OEM look is the best look on 9's.
Got it sprayed up and fitted on the sedan.
Also picked up a JDM recess for the rear but forgot about pics of it.
Got the JDM size plates fitted at the same time.

The car stayed like this for a while till some total moron crashed in to the drivers side front corner.

Luckily a few witnesses came forward and found out who it was and where they live.
Insurance sorted it all and the woman owned up and I got the money to repair the car.

I had some 5th Gen Prelude rims with brand new tyres that I really like so went a head with a 5 stud hub conversion and EK9 brake upgrade.

Also had a DC2 muffler fitted as the old muffler was in a terrible state.
Problem here is the exhaust tip is now hidden as it's shorter than the sedan ones. Getting this sorted though.

Here it is repaired and with Prelude rims.

At this point I started to get surrounded by facelift owners...

As everyone was yelling at me to facelift, I did.
Starting with the rear.
Also picked up some OEM deflectors.

Looks so weird with pre-face rear bumper and facelift lights and boot.

Borrowed a mates VSM rear facelift bumper.
Got a auto up JDM window switch but no pics of this.
Also picked up brand new rear badge and number plate light lenses.

Everyone that sees the facelift rear at night seems to absolutely love it.
It's a major improvement over pre-facelift.

I've got the facelift front just waiting for it all to be sprayed up and fitted.
Getting a new facelift EK9 VSM grill from Honda as people seem to want crazy money second hand.

Sedan's developed an annoying creaking on the front.
Had the rear bushes changed as these were squeeking.

Thought maybe it was the wheels as the tyres are a slightly big profile.
Tried my DC2 rims on as these are the correct size tyres.

6B4701CF-03F9-4526-BAAC-65509AA83EC0-13603-00000DF5F017D7F1.jpg

Well the noise was still there so I put my prelude rims back on.

Having some work done on the car so hopefully this noise will be gone.

Suspension that'll be on soon.

Well this brings me pretty much up to date.
Really wanted the facelift complete for Mimms in July but that's not gonna happen.

Stay tuned as this may be a slow build but should be pretty interesting.

Credit goes out to:

Andy for getting me some OEM parts.
Duncan at FastJapCars for laughing at the craziness and slaving away on the madness.
wahidul89 for finding and supplying Facelift parts and many other detail bits.
Shuthan for constant nagging.
samurai_x for making us all fatter.

I forgot to add that I also had A/C installed as I just can't do without it.
Plus you ain't JDM unless you've got A/C, lol.

Picked this up off a mate.
I have no idea why so much velcro was needed...
Get this fitted when the facelift goes on.

Needs some work but will look perfect once on.

Wife bought me a new present today.

Love the fish and hook on the box, lol.
I can stop borrowing my father in-laws now.

12 July 2013

Got the car back today.
Only pic I got of an update is the rear brake lights.
Now the bootlid lights up along with the corners and middle light when I brake.

Crappy phone pic's all I got.
Proper pics will come very soon.

13 July 2013

Just popped out to take a pic of the ride height.
The car is so dirty...

P1090828 by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

Lowered on Tein Control Master Type Flex.
Ride is superb, I want to lower it some more but the current tyres are profile 50 so have to wait till I change them to a 45 profile.
Also had JDM stalks installed. Now I don't get confused which side my indicators are on when jumping between the 9 and sedan.
Exhaust tip is now positioned correctly instead of being hidden about 6" under the bumper.
Think that's everything for the time being until facelift front goes on end of the month.

13 July 2013

Whilst the sedan was away getting worked on I picked up a practically new set of Facelift EK9 headlights.

Yesterday with the help of scott we lowered the sedan quite a bit.

IMG_2740 by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

Looks lovely but then when I started to drive we found out it's to low...
Unless I plan to go everywhere at around 5mph it rubs.
Gonna raise it up a tad until I get some correct tyres.

15 August 2013

Tiny update.
Well I'm still waiting on my facelift front to be painted and fitted...
Getting tired of waiting but should be worth it once it's all done.

Had a little holiday with the car.
Went down to Cornwall for the week.
The car performed admirably.
By the end of the holiday I now need a new lower ball joint but meh, lol.

Untitled by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

Got home and this was waiting thanks to a fellow EK9 owner.

Untitled by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

It's not an OEM boat...
A brand new VSM EK9 grill!

Also picked these up as I was sick to death of the **** locking nuts that came with the car.
Got them off ek4-aza.

Untitled by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

That's it for now.
Hoping next update the car will look much different.

20 September 2013

Finally...

Well yesterday I got a call to say facelift parts are ready.
So went round and we installed.

From removal of parts to installing of parts.

Small update:

So went with a few mates to get the USDM light conversion done by Aaron from BotlsBolts.
He done a great job and was nice to see him and his car away from the meets.

IMG_0043 by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

I've left the orginal side lights in which is not to everyones taste but I like it so for the time being they're staying in.

Also took some snaps with the green machine.

I must remember next time to remove sun shades...

Tracking and alignment was done by Honda today and also ordered up some new arch liner pin clip things as I'm missing a few.

Wish list:
Side moldings colour coded
Rear lip sorted
H's for centre caps

05 October 2013

I am trying to keep it mint and returning it back to factory finish...
But...

Untitled by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

My dad decided to reverse his van straight on to me the other day and has cracked my front bumper and stressed it in a few locations. Luckily the van didn't ride over the bumper and smash my lights and grill up.
So annoyed but he's buying me a brand new OEM colour coded replacement so good things do come out of unluckiness sometimes :)
I've also ordered a brand new OEM colour coded facelift rear bumper as I'm tired of the common bumper sag coupes and sedans seem to suffer with. Once I have the bumper in hand I'm gonna see if there's anything to add to the bumper supports to stop it sagging again.

Some small updates.

Got some new bulbs brought over from Japan for me.
Not sure if many people know about these.

Also picked up a Type-R gear knob while I was collecting a new front bumper.

Got the UK plate holes smoothed off and my guy fitted it late in the evening just before Mimms.

Untitled by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

I'd also been up to see Boyle (Andy) to get a new rear bumper.
Fitted this the morning of Mimms.
Fitment is miles better than my previous bumper and no more sag which pleased me a lot.

Untitled by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

Untitled by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

Not sure what else I'll be doing this year.
I'm re-fitting my original air box as the DC2 intake setup is a little untidy and doesn't fit like I wish it would.
Cleaned the bits up as much as I could.
If anyone has any tricks on how to get the rubber pipe looking new again let me know.

Had some bits wanting done to the car that I couldn't do myself so visited Maz at Hond-R and he sorted everything out. I can't give enough praise to these guys at Hond-R, amazing.

The work I had done was:
Getting my power folding mirrors to work.
Get my horn working.
Install dual bend shifter and gear linkages.
Install double din stereo surround and heater controls.
Install non air bag dash top.

P1110432 by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

P1110431 by JKK-EK9, on Flickr

Next I suppose is find some front seats and getting door cards retrimmed to match.
Gonna start tidying engine bay up to and maybe one day I'll get my damn rear lip on.

Again a big thank you to Maz at Hond-R who not only is a great guy, he does some great work to!

Looking great there mate! Keep it up!

Double din sets it of nicely :nice:

great quality pictures man what camera u usin??? car looks very tidy

One of the best ek sedan here . keep it oem and clear . nice work:nice:
I wish mine have a sunroof

Awesome car mate! Them Prelude wheels working really well, all the mods you got going are just the ticket im a huge fan of the OEM+ look on Hondas. What was the process of doing the Ferio rear end conversion? I'm assuming the rear lights are totally interchangeable despite looking like a totally different shape? (Probably the Ferio bootlid throwing me off haha!) Looking forward to more updates buddy!
